He was awarded the Maharashtrian of the Year 2025 in the Actor category for his remarkable portrayal of Murlikant Petkar in ‘Chandu Champion’. This honor is a moment of great pride not just for him, but also for his devoted fans!

Taking to Instagram, Kartik proudly shared a photo alongside Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and Governor CP Radhakrishnan.

“Maharashtrian Of The Year. Thank you to Honourable Governor CP Radhakrishnan ji, Chief Minister @devendra_fadnavis ji, and Deputy CM @mieknathshinde sir.”

Upon receiving the esteemed award, Kartik expressed his exhilaration and gratitude: “This is a proud moment for me and my family,” he exclaimed, radiating joy. Although originally from Gwalior, Kartik considers Mumbai his “karmabhoomi”—the city where his childhood dream of becoming an actor became a reality.

“This city has blessed me with my name, fame, home, and everything I cherish today,” he reflected. “Since I was a child, I aspired to come to Mumbai and pursue acting. Making that choice turned my life around.” Kartik quoted the Bhagavad Gita, stressing the significance of hard work without attachment to the outcome: “The Lokmat Maharashtrian of the Year award reinforces that belief. I will keep dedicating myself to my craft.”

Directed by Kabir Khan, ‘Chandu Champion’ features Kartik Aaryan in the role of Murlikant Petkar, India’s first Paralympic gold medalist. This incredible film depicts the true story of a man who overcame tremendous obstacles to achieve sporting greatness—a defining role for Kartik in his career.
