Kudroli to Host Grand Narayana Guru Convention on February 21, 2026
Mangaluru: A grand convention of followers of Brahmashri Narayana Guru will be held at Kudroli on February 21, 2026 the very date on which Narayana Guru had consecrated the Sri Gokarnanatha Kshetra in 1912. The announcement was made by R. Padmaraj, Treasurer of the Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatha Kshetra Administrative Committee, during a press conference held at the temple premises.
Padmaraj said that Narayana Guru, who gave the world the message of “One Caste, One Religion, One God”, worked tirelessly to empower the oppressed sections of society. “His ideology needs to reach more people. This convention aims to inspire everyone to adopt his principles and philosophy in their lives,” he said.
He further explained that 276 organizations belonging to the Billava community will take part in the event, with participation expected not only from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts, but also from various parts of Karnataka, India, and abroad. “This is not an event restricted to one community or religion. The teachings and messages of Narayana Guru are universal and relevant even today. Our aim is to spread his thoughts far and wide,” Padmaraj added, noting that the detailed program schedule will be announced in the coming months.

Koragajja Film Highlights Ancient Coastal Culture: Minister Parameshwara Praises the Team
Mangaluru: A new film titled “Koragajja” is set to celebrate the region’s ancient culture and traditional art forms. The movie has received appreciation from Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara, who commended its effort to preserve and promote local heritage.
“It is heartening to see movies like ‘Koragajja’ bringing our disappearing culture and art back to life. I hope more such films are made in the future,” said the Minister.
Produced under the banner of Trivikram Cinemas and Success Films, “Koragajja” will host a grand Koragajja Daiva Kola ritual on November 11, in the presence of the film’s cast and crew.

The film team including director Sudheer Attavar, actress Bhavya, producer Trivikram, and executive producer Vidyadhar Shetty met with the Home Minister to discuss the upcoming event. They also spoke about the challenges and opposition the film has faced from certain quarters.
Dr. Parameshwara extended his best wishes to the team, expressing hope that “Koragajja” will inspire more filmmakers to depict and preserve the rich traditions of coastal Karnataka.

18-year-old Girl Marries 55-year-old Man; Video Goes Viral on Social Media
Mangaluru: A shocking incident has gone viral on social media where an 18-year-old girl has married a 55-year-old man. What makes the story even more surprising is that the man is her sister’s husband.

According to reports, the young woman named Nadini fell in love with her brother-in-law while helping her ailing sister at home. During her stay there, she developed feelings for him, and later, the two decided to get married.
It is said that the girl’s sister, despite being the man’s first wife, supported their marriage. A video of the couple’s wedding has now gone viral on social media platforms like Instagram.
In the viral clip, when someone asked Nadini if her husband was too old for her, she replied confidently, “From my point of view, he doesn’t look old. Only his hair is grey, and we can dye that. Even his teeth can be made whiter. Then he looks handsome.”
