Gold Prices Remain Strong in Mangalore
Mangalore: Gold prices in Mangalore remained firm today, reflecting the continued demand for the precious metal in the coastal city.
According to the latest rates, 24-karat gold (99.9% purity) is priced at ₹14,564 per gram. 22-karat gold (91.6% purity), which is widely used for jewellery, is being sold at ₹13,350 per gram. Meanwhile, 18-karat gold (75% purity) is available at ₹10,923 per gram.
Mangalore, also known as Mangaluru, is famous not only for its rich coastal cuisine but also for its long-standing tradition of gold trading and jewellery making. The gold business has been an important part of the city’s economy for many years.

Srinivas University Wins Three International Awards in Bangkok
Mangaluru: Srinivas University has received three international awards at the Global Education Summit held recently in Bangkok, Thailand.
The university was honored with the Global Excellence Award in Higher Education and Research. The Srinivas Institute of Technology received the Excellence in Industry-Integrated Technical Education Award. The institute’s Principal, Dr. Srinivasa Mayya D., was presented with the Visionary Education Leader Award.
Speaking at a press conference, Chancellor Dr. Srinivas Rao said the awards recognize the institution’s achievements in education, research, industry-integrated learning, and student development. He said the recognition reflects the university’s contribution to the education sector at the international level.
Dr. Rao said the honor is not only for the institution but also for the education sector of Coastal Karnataka. He added that Srinivas University has recently introduced a B.Tech course in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering. The course has received a positive response from students.

He also said the university plans to launch student exchange programmes in the future to provide more international learning opportunities.

Roopesh Shetty Joins Upcoming Kannada-Telugu Film Halka Don
Mangaluru: Popular actor and singer Roopesh Shetty has joined the cast of the upcoming film Halka Don. The movie is being produced in both Kannada and Telugu languages.
The film is produced by K.P. Sreekanth and directed by Chala. It is being made under the Venus Entertainers banner and is the production house’s fourth film.
The announcement was made by Roopesh Shetty through his Instagram account. Sharing his excitement, he thanked producer K.P. Sreekanth and director Chala for giving him the opportunity to be a part of the project.
K.P. Sreekanth is known for producing successful Kannada films such as Mylaari, Tagaru, Salaga, and UI. Because of the production house’s strong track record, Halka Don has already created high expectations among movie lovers.
