Kalpana Raghavendar Admitted to Hospital Following Reported Suicide Attempt

Renowned Indian playback singer Kalpana Raghavendar was urgently hospitalized after being discovered unconscious at her residence in Rangareddy, Telangana. The 44-year-old artist, celebrated for her enchanting voice and a plethora of hit songs, was in a critical state on Tuesday evening, reportedly following a suicide attempt.

Reports indicate that the KPHB police station received an emergency call from Kalpana’s apartment complex around 5 PM. Upon arrival, officers found her apartment door locked. However, peering through the kitchen window, they spotted Kalpana lying unconscious on her bed.

Medical responders quickly transported her to Holistic Hospital via ambulance. Her husband arrived at the hospital shortly thereafter, around 6 PM. Doctors have since reported that her condition is stable, and she is currently under medical supervision. Authorities have stated that no formal case has been registered at this time.

Kalpana Raghavendar is a distinguished playback singer, songwriter, and performer who has been a significant figure in the Indian music industry for several decades. She began her singing journey at the age of five and has recorded over 1,500 songs in various languages. Beyond playback singing, she is renowned for her electrifying live performances, having participated in more than 3,000 concerts around the globe.

Her impressive vocal talents have earned her numerous accolades, including the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer for the song “Pogiren” from the film 36 Vayadhinile. Some of her other notable tracks include “Navamoorthulainatti” from Intinta Annamayya and “Mangalagouriki” from Manoharam.

In addition to her playback career, Kalpana gained wider recognition by winning Idea Star Singer Malayalam (Season 5) and later appeared in Bigg Boss Telugu Season 1. She has also served as a judge on the popular singing reality show Super Singer Junior.
