Jonathan Daviss, renowned for his portrayal of Pope in Netflix’s acclaimed series ‘Outer Banks,’ has secured the lead role in an upcoming biopic centering on rap legend Snoop Dogg. This film is poised to be a significant cinematic endeavor, featuring notable talents both on-screen and behind the scenes.

According to *The Hollywood Reporter*, the biopic is produced by Snoop Dogg in collaboration with Brian Grazer and Sara Ramaker, the president of Death Row Pictures. This project is the inaugural film under Death Row Pictures’ new partnership with NBCUniversal Entertainment & Studios, signaling an exciting venture for the iconic Death Row Records into the film industry.

The film will be directed by Craig Brewer, known for his work on *Hustle & Flow* and *Dolemite Is My Name*. Brewer will also revise the script originally written by Joe Robert Cole, bringing his signature ability to convey the raw energy of real-life narratives.

The movie will depict Snoop Dogg’s rise from a young rapper in Long Beach, California, to his status as a global pop culture icon. His journey began with the release of his groundbreaking debut album *Doggystyle* in 1993 under Death Row Records, which was produced by Dr. Dre. This album featured hit singles like “Gin and Juice” and “What’s My Name?”, solidifying Snoop’s legacy in hip-hop history.
