J&K Council of Ministers Collaborates with L-G Administration to Prioritize Citizen Safety
In response to the heinous terror attack that took place in Baisaran, Pahalgam on Tuesday, the Council convened a vital meeting chaired by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
The Council expressed deep sorrow and outrage over the tragic loss of innocent lives and the injuries suffered by civilians in this barbaric and cowardly attack. They firmly condemned this senseless act of terror, which directly assaults the peace, unity, and democratic values that the people of Jammu and Kashmir hold dear.
The Government expressed unwavering support for the victims’ families and reiterated its commitment to ensuring justice, enhancing security, and preserving the spirit of brotherhood and resilience that characterizes Jammu and Kashmir, as stated in the meeting’s official release.
The Council emphasised its strong determination to bring the perpetrators of this horrific act to justice while taking all necessary measures to protect every citizen’s life and liberty.
Furthermore, while recognizing that security is not solely the responsibility of the elected Government, the Council pledged to closely coordinate with the Lieutenant Governor’s administration to ensure the safety of all citizens, particularly tourists and residents in vulnerable areas.
It was resolved to promptly distribute ex-gratia relief to the next of kin of the deceased and those injured, as announced. Arrangements will also be made to provide the best possible medical treatment for the injured and to ensure the respectful return of tourists and the dignified transportation of mortal remains.
The Council of Ministers reiterated that the resolve of both the Government and the people of Jammu and Kashmir will remain unshaken by such cowardly acts of violence. They urged every resident to stay united, vigilant, and resilient.
“Let us reject fear and division, and reaffirm our commitment to peace, unity, and the enduring spirit of harmony and shared resilience that defines our land,” the Council resolved.

UP Teen Dies in Street Racing Crash In Lucknow
Uttar Pradesh: A 17-year-old Class 12 student died in a road accident during a street race in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, on Sunday.
The victim, Naitik Kumar, was riding a Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 with a group of bikers near Janeshwar Mishra Park. While racing, he suddenly lost control of his bike after hitting something on the road.
His bike crashed into a Honda Activa in front of him. He then fell onto a road divider and suffered serious head injuries.
The Activa slid across the road and hit another bike, a Kawasaki Ninja, which was moving at high speed. The Ninja rider was adjusting his action camera when the accident happened.

Naitik Kumar was rushed to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared him dead. Police said he was not wearing proper protective gear.
Two others involved in the accident suffered minor injuries. Police are checking CCTV footage to find the exact cause of the crash.

BCM Hostel Manager Dies by Suicide
Hassan: A hostel manager working under the Backward Classes Welfare Department died by suicide in Channarayapatna of Hassan district.
The deceased has been identified as Lokesh (45). He had been serving as a warden for two hostels in Guddenahalli, Hassan, and was recently promoted as a hostel manager a few days ago. Following the promotion, he was posted as the manager of the BCM hostel in Channarayapatna.

According to reports, Lokesh allegedly died by suicide by hanging himself at his residence on Saturday night.
The exact reason for his suicide is not yet known. Local police visited the spot, conducted a preliminary inspection, and have begun an investigation into the incident.

Family Bids Emotional Goodbye to Harish Rana
New Delhi: Harish Rana’s family shared an emotional farewell before doctors began withdrawing his life support at AIIMS Delhi.
Rana suffered severe brain injuries after falling from the fourth floor in 2013 and remained on life support for 13 years.
After a plea by his parents, the Supreme Court allowed passive euthanasia, marking the first such case in India.
