Jasprit Bumrah Shares Video of His Bowling Session at NCA Nets
Jasprit Bumrah, India’s leading fast bowler, has begun bowling again at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru after being sidelined from the ongoing Champions Trophy due to a lower back injury. The pacer shared a video of himself bowling in the nets on Instagram, captioning it “Progress every day,” which has thrilled fans eager for his return to international cricket.
Bumrah’s last appearance for India was during the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, where he captained the team in the first and last Test of the series in place of the regular captain, Rohit Sharma. He ended the series as the top wicket-taker with 32 wickets at an impressive average of 13.06, posting his best performance of 6-76 in the third Test in Brisbane. Unfortunately, he had to withdraw midway through the Sydney Test, the last match of the series.

In Bumrah’s absence, Mohammed Shami, Harshit Rana, and all-rounder Hardik Pandya have performed admirably for India in the pace department during the Champions Trophy. Bumrah was also in Dubai for India’s match against Pakistan on Sunday, where he received his ICC Awards and Team of the Year caps in recognition of his outstanding performances in 2024.
Bumrah claimed the ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year title and the prestigious Sir Garfield Sobers Award for a remarkable 2024 season, in which he secured 71 wickets in Test cricket at an average of 14.92.
He was also named Player of the Tournament at the 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup held in the USA and the West Indies, taking 15 wickets at an astounding average of 8.26 and an economy rate of just 4.17.
Furthermore, Bumrah earned the ICC Men’s Test Cricketer of the Year award in a stellar year where he became the fastest Indian pacer to reach 200 Test wickets. He was selected for both the ICC Men’s Test Team of the Year and the ICC Men’s T20I Team of the Year.
Bumrah remains hopeful of being fit for IPL 2025, where he is set to play for the Mumbai Indians against Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on March 23.
