Jason Isaacs Worried His Home Would Be Set on Fire and That He’d Be Stabbed by Stalker
He shared with the i newspaper, “I was overwhelmed by the whole experience. I should have turned it into a film. While ‘Baby Reindeer’ is perhaps a bit more dramatic, the reality was still frightening. I lived in constant fear that my house might be set ablaze or that I could be attacked.”
Isaacs noted that the police were slow to respond to his concerns because the perpetrator was a young woman. “There’s something unsettling about the fact that she might read this,” he added.
He recounted an incident where the woman was arrested outside his home, only to be mistakenly released and later found at his front door. In another instance, an officer allegedly suggested that Isaacs “just knock her out,” while another officer recommended he change his name and occupation entirely.
He exploded in frustration, stating, “That’s an absurd suggestion! The police were practically ineffective, insisting I must have been involved with her romantically, when I had never even met her.”
The ‘Harry Potter’ star previously revealed that he had taken legal action against the woman multiple times, but she continued to contact him obsessively once the restraining orders expired.
Isaacs genuinely believed the stalker was always “watching” him from his street. He remarked, “While friends might joke about it, they don’t realize what it feels like to have someone banging on your door at the early hours of the morning, bringing an unsettling chill into the room.”
He found it particularly odd that after being away for six months to a year for filming, her behavior would resume the moment he returned home. “It made me wonder, ‘Is she just out there, watching me every day?’”
