ISIS Leader Abu Bilal Killed in Joint Operation, Says Trump
Washington: US President Donald Trump has announced that American forces, along with Nigerian armed forces, have killed senior ISIS leader Abu Bilal al-Minuki in a joint military operation.
Trump shared the information through a post on Truth Social on Thursday night according to US time. He said the operation was carried out under his direction and described Abu Bilal as one of the world’s most active terrorists.
According to Trump, Abu Bilal believed he could hide in Africa and continue his activities without being tracked. However, Trump said US intelligence agencies had complete information about his movements and plans.
“He will no longer terrorize the people of Africa or help plan attacks targeting Americans,” Trump stated in his post. He also added that the terrorist leader can no longer spread fear among innocent people.
Abu Bilal al-Minuki had strong links with the Islamic State network operating in parts of West Africa. The United States had placed sanctions on him in 2023 for his alleged role in supporting extremist activities in the region.

The US government had officially declared Abu Bilal a global terrorist during the administration of former President Joe Biden in June 2023. He was also known as Abu Bakr Muhammad al-Minuki and was believed to be based in the Sahel region of Africa.
The operation is being seen as a major success in the fight against terrorism in Africa. Officials believe the death of Abu Bilal could weaken ISIS-linked activities in the region.
Seoul: South Korea has expanded its Top-Tier Visa program to attract skilled foreign talent. The new rules came into effect on June 1.
The premium visa is now available not only to professionals in industries such as AI, semiconductors, robotics, biotechnology, and battery technology, but also to STEM professors and full-time researchers.
The visa offers long-term residence and a faster path to permanent residency in South Korea. This move is expected to benefit many Indian researchers, professors, and PhD graduates.
The South Korean government has also increased the hiring limit for foreign skilled workers in sectors facing labor shortages, including agriculture, livestock, and fisheries.

The reforms aim to address the country’s declining birth rate, aging population, and growing workforce shortage. South Korea hopes these measures will attract global talent and support long-term economic growth.
Washington: The United States has carried out fresh strikes against Iran despite ongoing efforts for peace talks. According to the US military, four Iranian drones flying toward the Strait of Hormuz were shot down.
The US also attacked Iranian coastal radar sites on Qeshm Island and nearby locations. The military said the action was taken to protect shipping routes and prevent further threats.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important routes for oil and gas transport. Rising tensions between the US and Iran have increased concerns about regional security and pushed global energy prices higher.

The latest developments have also raised fears over the future of the current ceasefire in the region.
New Delhi: A 28-year-old Indian man from Telangana was shot dead while delivering a pizza in Philadelphia, United States. The victim, Anshul Kuncha, was working part-time as a pizza delivery executive on weekends.
According to his family, Anshul received a fake pizza order and was sent to a deserted location on Saturday night. When he arrived, an unidentified gunman opened fire and shot him multiple times before fleeing the scene.
Family members believe the delivery request was a trap. They said nothing was stolen from Anshul, raising questions about the motive behind the killing.

The family has appealed for the quick return of his body to India and demanded justice. The Consulate General of India in New York said it is in touch with local authorities and is providing assistance to the family.
