Reports from ‘E! News’ indicate that “Ye Ye” has emerged in official documents tied to some of West’s prominent ventures, including his well-known brands, Yeezy Apparel and Yeezy Record Label, along with Ox Paha Inc. These filings were submitted on June 10, with Hussain Lalani, West’s Chief Financial Officer, designating “Ye Ye” in relation to West’s role as a manager or member in these companies.
However, it remains uncertain if Kanye West is pursuing a legal name change to “Ye Ye.” In California, such a process entails legal steps, typically requiring a notice to be published in a local newspaper before a judge’s approval. As of now, no filings indicate this change has occurred.
This potential name transition aligns with Kanye’s enduring theme of self-reinvention—spiritually, artistically, and publicly. When he first adopted “Ye,” he explained that the name held Biblical significance, representing the word “you.” He stated, “I’m you, I’m us, it’s us,” emphasizing his desire to reflect the complexities of humanity.
His 2018 album titled ‘Ye’ echoed this sentiment, exploring the duality of human nature. West expressed his aim to encapsulate the energy he was feeling from the universe through the name change.
This isn’t the first instance of West distancing himself from his past identities. Recently, on May 31, he announced he would be stepping away from his long-time Twitter (now X) handle @kanyewest. He tweeted, “I’m finally stopping the @kanyewest Twitter because my name is Ye,” revealing plans to start anew with a “ye” account.
