Invitation Released for Brahmakalashotsava at Arithvodalu Vishnumoorthy Temple in Mangaluru

Mangaluru: Preparations are underway for the Ashtabandha Brahmakalashotsava at Arithvodalu Sri Vishnumoorthy Temple in Konchady Bail, near Kavoor in Mangaluru. The religious event will be held from April 6 to April 12.

The invitation for the Brahmakalashotsava was officially released on March 1. The invitation was unveiled by Dr. Bharath Shetty, President of the Brahmakalashotsava Committee and MLA.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Bharath Shetty requested devotees to extend their support in all possible ways. He asked them to contribute with their service, donations, and prayers to ensure the success of the festival.

The chief priest of the temple, Narayana Mayya, offered prayers during the programme. Administrative Moktesar Dr. Naresh Rai Deppuniguttu was present at the event. Renovation Committee President Vitthal Alva also attended the programme.

Several moktesars and devotees took part in the ceremony. Members of various organizations and devotees also carried out voluntary service at the temple. The temple committee has invited all devotees to participate in the Brahmakalashotsava and seek blessings during the festival.

Administrative Trustee Dr. Naresh Rai Depuniguttu; Renovation Committee President Vitthal Alva Halemogaru; trustees Sadashiva Rai Nardabettu, Shekhar Kotian, Gopal Bangera, and Jagadish Shetty; Working President Avinash Nayak; General Secretaries Sharath Kumar and Deepak Poojary; Treasurer Shambhu Shetty; key members Ramananda Bhandary, Divakar Pakkala, and Shitesh Konde; along with all the committee members and villagers, were present in the festival.

Young Man Dies After Goods Tempo Hits Bike Near Padil

Mangaluru: A young man died in a tragic road accident after a goods tempo hit his bike near Padil in Mangaluru.

The deceased has been identified as Sajesh Poojary, a resident of Kudrot in Saccheripete. He was working as an accountant at a Tata showroom in Mangaluru.

According to reports, the accident happened when Sajesh was riding his bike to work. A goods tempo reportedly hit his bike while taking a turn near Padil.

Due to the impact, Sajesh fell on the road along with his bike and suffered serious injuries. He died on the spot.

It is said that Sajesh had lost both his parents at a young age. He had built a new house five months ago and was living there alone.

Further details about the accident are yet to be confirmed.

Vrinda G. Rao, a student of the B.Com department, secured the First Rank in her stream. Her achievement reflects her hard work and dedication throughout her academic journey.

Poorna C., a student of the B.Sc Animation and Visual Effects department, also secured First Rank in her stream. Her success is a proud moment for the college and the department.

Temple Timings Changed Across Karnataka for Blood Moon Illusion

Mangaluru : Several temples across Karnataka have changed their darshan timings on Tuesday, March 3, due to the Blood Moon (lunar eclipse) falling on Phalguna Purnima. Religious leaders have clarified that there will be no disturbance to Holi celebrations.

At the Kadu Mallikarjuna Temple in Bengaluru, darshan will be allowed till 12 noon. The sanctum will close before the eclipse begins. The temple will reopen at 7 pm after purification rituals. Special poojas, including milk abhisheka, will be performed. Darshan will be available till 9.30 pm.

In Vijayanagara district, temples including the Virupaksha Temple will close their sanctums during the eclipse period from 3.20 pm to 6.47 pm.

At the Udupi Sri Krishna Matha, the eclipse will be visible for a short time after sunset. There will be no meals served on that day, similar to Ekadashi practice. The temple will remain open, and rituals will continue. A Holi procession will also be held in the evening.

In Belur, the historic Chennakeshava Temple will close its sanctum after morning pooja. Rituals will resume after 7 pm. Tourists can visit the temple premises, but entry to the sanctum will not be allowed during the eclipse.

At Male Mahadeshwara Hills, darshan will continue without restriction. Officials said the eclipse will not affect temple rituals.

The Chamundeshwari Temple will close at 2 pm and reopen at 8.30 pm. Special poojas will be held during the eclipse.

Temple authorities have requested devotees to follow the revised timings. They have assured that traditional rituals will be performed as per customs, and Holi celebrations will continue without any issue.
