Hit-and-Run Maruti Van Traced in Vitla

Vitla: A Maruti van that had fled after causing an accident has been traced by the public in Bantwal taluk.

The accident took place at Kadambu on the Salettur–Vitla road. The van had hit a Honda Dio two-wheeler that was heading towards Vitla and then escaped from the spot.

The incident was reported in the media on February 6. After noticing the van, villagers tried to chase it. However, the driver managed to escape along with the vehicle.

Later, during a renewed search, the van was found parked in the yard of a house at Tamaraje. The vehicle is said to belong to beedi contractor Ismail.

The public immediately informed the police. The police reached the spot, identified the accident vehicle, and took it into custody.

Wife, Lover Arrested for Husband’s Murder Within 3 Months of Marriage

Tumakuru: Police have arrested four people, including a woman and her lover, for allegedly murdering her husband just three months after their marriage in Tiptur taluk of Tumakuru district.

The victim, Mansoor Pasha, a scrap trader, had married Farzana in January this year. On March 4, he went out to collect scrap materials but went missing. Later, his body was found in a farm at Chikkakottagihalli village.

During the investigation, police discovered that Farzana was in a relationship with Dhanaraj. The two allegedly planned the murder to live together. With the help of Venkatesh and Darshan, they called Mansoor to the spot on the pretext of scrap materials and killed him.

All four accused have been arrested, and further investigation is underway.

Kolar: One Dead in Car–Bike Collision

Kolar: A man died in a tragic road accident in Kolar district on Thursday. The accident happened when a speeding car hit a bike and later overturned.

According to police, the car first collided with a bike on the road. After the collision, the driver lost control of the vehicle. The car then hit the divider and overturned.

A 40-year-old man named Basheer from Andhra Pradesh died on the spot. He was travelling in the car at the time of the accident.

Another person who was in the car suffered serious injuries. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The bike riders escaped with minor injuries. They received first aid after the incident.

The impact of the crash was very severe. The car was completely crushed in the accident.

Woman Drowns During Trek Near Kundapur

Kundapur: A 53-year-old woman died after drowning in a river during a trekking trip near Kundapur on Sunday, March 1.

The deceased has been identified as Shubhashree Karanth, a medical shop owner from Kundapur. She was part of a group of 8 to 10 people who had gone trekking to Metkal Gudda near Hosangady.

The incident took place near Bhagimane in Hosangady. During the trek, she reportedly entered the river and drowned. The exact cause of the incident is not yet known.

Her body was shifted to the Government Hospital in Kundapur for further procedures.

Police from Amasebail station visited the spot and collected information. A case has been registered. Further investigation is in progress.
