Himachal BJP Chief: CM Has No Influence on Public Health Matters

Published

on

In response to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s remarks, State BJP President Dr. Rajiv Bindal stated that Sukhu’s assertions are not only false but also absurd and undermine the interests of the state. During his visit to the Naina Devi constituency, the Chief Minister commented on the AIIMS in Bilaspur, claiming it had been set up without adequate treatment facilities and citing a shortage of doctors at the institution.Bindal emphasized that by discussing a key medical facility like AIIMS Bilaspur, Sukhu has demonstrated a lack of concern for the health issues facing the people of Himachal Pradesh. He pointed out that the institution was established under the supervision of Jagat Prakash Nadda, who alongside Hamirpur MP Anurag Thakur, continues to support its development. Rather than advancing its progress, he deemed it irresponsible for the Chief Minister to criticize the institution.

Additionally, Bindal highlighted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government, railway expansion has commenced in Himachal for the first time, reaching as far as Bilaspur. He accused the Sukhu administration of unfairly trying to claim credit for this railway project while simultaneously hindering its development, which he believes reflects a disregard for the needs of the state’s residents.

Bindal further criticized Congress for coming to power by misleading the youth regarding job promises, stating that instead of fulfilling their commitments, the party has resorted to attacking the BJP. He noted that the promise of one lakh government jobs within the first cabinet and five lakh over time remains unfulfilled since the Congress took over, leaving the unemployed youth without any opportunities.

He also pointed to Congress’s electoral performance, indicating that the party suffered a complete defeat in the Delhi Assembly elections for the third consecutive time, failing to win any of the 70 contested seats. While their vote share increased from 4.26 percent in 2020 to 6.4 percent this year, it was insufficient for meaningful representation. Only in three constituencies—Badli, Kasturba Nagar, and Nangloi Jat—did they manage to retain their security deposit. Bindal asserted that these results send a clear message to the Congress in Himachal Pradesh about their anti-people policies.
