GI-PKL 2025: Telugu Cheetahs, Punjabi Tigresses, and Tamil Lionesses Triumph in Women’s Division

On the opening day of the women’s league in the ongoing Global Indian Pravasi Kabaddi League (GI-PKL), the Telugu Cheetahs, Punjabi Tigress, and Tamil Lioness emerged victorious. The GI-PKL kicked off with men’s matches on Friday, and the tournament will span 13 days, culminating in the final on April 30 at the Multipurpose Hall of Gurugram University.

In the first match, the Telugu Cheetahs showcased their skills, overpowering the Marathi Falcons with a score of 42-28. They dominated the game with 24 raid points, including two super raids and six all-out points, establishing clear superiority.


Despite the Marathi Falcons’ efforts, which included three super tackles, they struggled to ignite their offensive game. The Cheetahs’ well-rounded attack and strong defensive strategies ensured a convincing win in this inaugural women’s match.

In the second match, the Punjabi Tigress displayed a powerful performance, defeating the Bhojpuri Leopardess 41-21. With an impressive tally of 22 raid points and 13 tackle points, the Tigress controlled the game and their six all-out points played a crucial role in the victory. The Bhojpuri Leopardess struggled offensively, managing only 12 raid points, as the Tigress secured a comfortable 20-point win.

The final match of the day saw the Tamil Lioness dominate the mat, securing a decisive 44-18 victory against the Haryanvi Eagles. The Lionesses were relentless, racking up 24 raid points and 14 tackle points, along with six all-out points to cement their dominance.

Even with two super tackles from the Eagles, the Tamil team maintained control throughout, demonstrating outstanding teamwork and tactical finesse to achieve a significant triumph.

The women’s matches delighted fans on Saturday, marking a historic moment as it was the first time international and Indian women players competed together in Kabaddi.

The league stage will continue until April 27, followed by the men’s semifinals on April 28 and the women’s semifinals on April 29. The grand finale for both categories is set for April 30.

The GI-PKL, organized by the Holistic International Pravasi Sports Association (HIPSA), features a diverse lineup of talent from around the world, including athletes from Kenya, Tanzania, Cameroon, Hungary, Norway, Poland, England, Taiwan, Germany, and India, all showcasing their dedication and passion for Kabaddi.

Chinese Man Sets World Record by Running 100 Km Daily for 100 Days

World: A Chinese ultramarathon runner has achieved a remarkable world record by running 100 kilometres every day for 100 consecutive days.

The runner, Huang Zhenglong, is also known as Long Shao. He completed a total distance of 10,000 kilometres during this challenge.

According to Guinness World Records, the feat took place between December 6 and March 15. He successfully finished the challenge in Foshan, Guangdong.

Huang was warmly welcomed and celebrated after completing this extraordinary achievement. Many people praised his dedication and strong will.

He had been preparing for such endurance challenges for a long time. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he closed his business to focus fully on running.

Earlier, he had also run across China for 365 days without a break. This experience helped him take up even tougher challenges.

At the beginning, many people doubted his ability to complete this task. Running 100 kilometres daily is equal to running more than two marathons every day.

Despite the doubts, Huang stayed consistent and disciplined. He started his run every morning at 7 am along the Desheng River.

He also shared his journey online, which inspired many people. His determination impressed runners and fans around the world.

Huang said that receiving recognition from Guinness World Records made him very happy. He added that many people believed this challenge was impossible.

Shresta Iyer Faces Hate After IPL Video

IPL 2026 : The IPL 2026 match between Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders was washed out due to rain.

The match result gave both teams one point each. Shreyas Iyer’s sister, Shresta Iyer, shared a fun video on Instagram after the game.

She joked that Punjab had given one point to KKR. Some people did not like the video and sent her hateful messages online.

Shresta later posted another video to respond to the hate. She said her video was only for fun and not meant to insult anyone.

She asked people to take the game in a positive spirit. She also said there should be no hate, only love in sports.

RCB’s 19th Over Blitz Seals Big Win Over CSK

Sports: At the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Chennai Super Kings in an exciting high-scoring match.

RCB looked steady at first but exploded in the final overs. Tim David and Rajat Patidar changed the game with powerful hitting. The 19th over became the turning point as RCB scored 30 runs and set a huge target.
