Led by senior BJP MP and former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, an all-party Parliamentary delegation (Group 2) has completed its tour across France, Italy, Denmark, the UK, Belgium, and Germany. The delegation noted that all six nations expressed support for India in its battle against terrorism following the April 22 Pahalgam attack.

Upon returning to the national capital, the delegation wrapped up its diplomatic mission to these six significant European countries.
This visit was part of a global outreach effort to brief key nations about Operation Sindoor and India’s counter-terrorism approach in light of the recent attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.

In addition to Prasad, the delegation included BJP MPs Daggubati Purandeswari, Samik Bhattacharya, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi, Congress MP Amar Singh, nominated MP Ghulam Ali Khatana, former minister MJ Akbar, and former Ambassador Pankaj Saran.

The representatives shared insights and evidence pertaining to Operation Sindoor with officials in each of the six countries, elucidating the rationale behind it. The multi-nation visit aimed to bolster India’s diplomatic relations while affirming its strong stance against global terrorism.

Following the trip, Prasad underscored the global unity in condemning the recent terrorist incident in Pahalgam.

“Our delegation started in France and proceeded to Italy, Denmark (Copenhagen), England, Brussels, and Germany. At every stop, we engaged in discussions with MPs, ministers, think tanks, media, and Indian communities. A noticeable sentiment was the widespread anger against the Pahalgam attack. Each country firmly condemned it and expressed solidarity with India,” he said.

In an interview after the trip, Prasad remarked, “It’s wonderful to return to India. Our visit covered France, Italy, Denmark, England, Brussels, and Germany, where we connected with senior leaders, think tanks, and the Indian community. Foreign nations shared their outrage over the Pahalgam attack, condemning it collectively. Our experience at the European Parliament was positive, and the Indian community was thrilled to meet us. We foresee a new bond forming between India and Europe. This visit was immensely gratifying.”

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi stated, “Our discussions spanned six nations, engaging with media, think tanks, and government officials. A notable interaction was with the German Foreign Minister, where we spoke for 30 minutes. They acknowledge that the fight against terrorism, particularly sponsored by Pakistan, is a shared challenge for both India and Western Europe.”

“We conveyed that Pakistan exploits IMF loans to maintain its terror camps. Europe has condemned terrorism in all its forms. Our meetings, particularly with the German Foreign Minister, Vice Chairman of Parliament, and other officials, yielded a very favorable response. It demonstrates a global understanding of the terror threat and the importance of unity in combating it. Currently, there is a unanimous consensus that all forms of terrorism must be denounced,” she added.

Chaturvedi continued, “The countries we visited are aware of the origins of terrorism and where Osama bin Laden was found. Accountability is overdue, and Pakistan will face isolation on this issue. The EU has pledged to question Pakistan about its terrorism links. This is merely the beginning; soon, zero tolerance for terrorism will be a global policy.”

BJP MP Ghulam Ali Khatana asserted, “We made it explicitly clear that terrorism from Pakistan will be intolerable. Such acts will be treated as acts of war. This strong message resonated with our counterparts in Europe, and the international community is taking it very seriously.”

Daggubati Purandeswari, another BJP MP, noted that the outreach focused on exposing long-standing threats to India.

“We approached this mission with the intent to defend India and expose the persistent threat of terrorism that has affected our nation for decades. Through evidence shared with MPs, officials, and the diaspora, we received overwhelming moral support,” she stated.

AIADMK MP M Thambidurai added: “We successfully highlighted Pakistan’s nefarious activities to the world. Everyone we met was convinced. I am grateful to Prime Minister Modi for facilitating this outreach.”

The visit concluded in Germany from June 5 to 7, where the delegation received positive diplomatic feedback and reiterated India’s zero-tolerance policy toward terrorism.

Officials regarded the tour as a critical initiative in strengthening India’s global alliances against the rising threat of state-sponsored terrorism.

Following Operation Sindoor, the Modi government established seven multi-party delegations to inform various nations about Pakistan’s connections to terrorism and to convey India’s uncompromising stance against terrorism in all its forms.

Uttar Pradesh: A 75-year-old man who remarried in search of companionship died barely hours after his wedding, sparking shock and speculation in his village.

The deceased, identified as Sangruram, a resident of Kuchhmuchh village in Jaunpur district, had been living alone after losing his first wife a year ago. With no children, he supported himself through farming. Despite advice from relatives against remarriage, Sangruram wed 35-year-old Manbhavati, a resident of Jalalpur area, on Monday, September 29.

The marriage was first registered in court, followed by traditional rituals at a local temple. According to Manbhavati, the couple spent most of the wedding night conversing, as Sangruram assured her that she would take responsibility for the household while he would “take care of the children.”

However, by the next morning, his health deteriorated suddenly. He was rushed to hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

The unexpected death has triggered varied reactions in the village. While some residents believe it to be a natural occurrence given his age, others have expressed suspicion about the circumstances.
