In an honest Instagram post, Moriarty disclosed that she has been diagnosed with Graves’ disease, an autoimmune condition that impacts the thyroid gland and can result in various challenging symptoms.

Graves’ disease often causes the body to produce excessive thyroid hormones, leading to issues such as heat intolerance, weight loss, tremors, and a rapid heartbeat. If left untreated, it can lead to severe complications, including heart disease and osteoporosis.

Reflecting on her experience, Moriarty mentioned that she initially dismissed her symptoms, thinking they were merely due to stress and fatigue. “If I hadn’t attributed it all to stress, I might have caught it sooner,” she noted, encouraging her followers to pay close attention to their bodies.

The actress highlighted the rapid improvements she felt after starting treatment. “Within 24 hours of beginning my treatment, I felt like a light was returning. It’s been getting stronger ever since,” she shared.

Using her platform for awareness, Erin Moriarty made a heartfelt plea to her followers. “If you’re feeling off, even a little, get it checked. Don’t just ‘suck it up’—you deserve to feel comfortable. Life is tough enough,” she advised.

Her post quickly garnered attention and support across social media, with friends, fans, and colleagues, including ‘The Boys’ co-star Susan Heyward and director Shana Stein, sending messages of love and encouragement. “So happy you’re on the road to recovery,” Stein commented.
