Effortless Traffic Management Implemented for Magh Purnima Bathing Festival at Mahakumbh

The Uttar Pradesh government has put in place thorough measures to facilitate the smooth transit of devotees across Prayagraj, particularly in the Mahakumbh Mela zone, for the upcoming fourth bathing festival, Magh Purnima, set for Wednesday as part of Mahakumbh-2025. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued explicit instructions to ensure that no devotee, Kalpvasi, or resident faces any inconvenience within the Mahakumbh Mela area or throughout Prayagraj city.

In response, the local authorities and police department are fully prepared, concentrating on traffic management, facilitating smooth vehicle movement, organizing parking, enhancing security, maintaining surveillance, and overall oversight.

UP DGP Prashant Kumar stated on Tuesday that “traffic is moving steadily on all major routes, with no notable increase in congestion over recent hours. Junctions within the city are also experiencing unobstructed vehicle movement.”

Sharing insights into the preparations, Prayagraj Police Commissioner Tarun Gaba reassured that both the Uttar Pradesh government and the UP Police are dedicated to providing devotees with a seamless experience at Mahakumbh. He highlighted that traffic management strategies were devised months ahead of time and are now being executed successfully.

He mentioned, “Despite an increase in vehicles as the weekend approaches and sporadic high-traffic times, the administration and police have diligently managed issues through relentless efforts, resulting in smooth traffic on all routes leading to the fairgrounds and within Prayagraj, with no congestion present in the city.”

Police and administration officials have urged all devotees to make use of designated parking areas along their paths and avoid attempting to reach Sangam directly, as specific arrangements have been established for various routes.

Commissioner Tarun Gaba reiterated the administration’s commitment to ensuring a hassle-free experience for devotees while maintaining clear traffic flow. He appealed to visitors to park only in designated spaces to facilitate orderly movement.

For enhanced security and monitoring, the police and local authorities are employing ANPR and AI-enabled cameras to oversee the movement of devotees and manage traffic in the fair area. Additionally, real-time data is being collected from toll plazas and officials in surrounding districts to monitor incoming vehicle numbers and routes, which aids in effective traffic management.

To provide a smooth experience for everyone, the fair area will be designated a no-vehicle zone one day prior to the Magh Purnima bathing festival, with restrictions on vehicular movement across Prayagraj city beginning Tuesday evening. A specific traffic plan has been established for Kalpvasis residing in the fair area, and all necessary information has been communicated to them.

New Delhi: Rao Inderjeet Yadav has been arrested in Dubai. He is wanted in a murder case from Haryana.

He fled India in 2024 after a businessman was killed in Rohtak. Police had been searching for him since then. Officials said Dubai authorities have asked for documents. He is likely to be brought back to India soon.

Yadav faces more than 15 criminal cases. These include extortion, fraud, and illegal land deals. The Enforcement Directorate also investigated him for money laundering. Raids led to the seizure of cash, cars, and documents.

Man Killed by Wife’s Lover in Andhra Pradesh, Son Raises Alarm

Andhra Pradesh: A 45-year-old man was killed by his wife’s lover in Annamayya district of Andhra Pradesh. The incident happened on Monday night in a forest area near Chowdepalli.

The victim, Gandhi from Tamil Nadu, had come with his five-year-old son to search for his wife. Police said the wife was in a relationship with another man named Narasimhulu.

Narasimhulu allegedly took Gandhi and the child into the forest. He and his aides then attacked Gandhi with a stone and killed him in front of the boy.

The frightened child hid in nearby bushes. After the attackers left, he stayed beside his father’s body the whole night.

At sunrise, the boy walked to a nearby village and informed locals. The police were alerted and started an investigation.

Police have taken the accused and his two aides into custody. The child has been placed in a care centre.

Woman Delivers Baby Girl on Train in Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh : A pregnant woman gave birth to a baby girl on a moving train in Andhra Pradesh. The incident ended safely with the help of railway staff.

The woman was eight months pregnant. She boarded the train with her family, believing she still had one month left for delivery. She was travelling from Chennai to Dhanbad on Train No. 13352.

After the train crossed Annavaram station, she began to feel labour pain. Her family members became worried and immediately informed the ticket examiner.

Railway staff member G. Jyothi responded quickly and helped the woman. Understanding the emergency, the train was given a special halt at Elamanchili station. An ambulance was also arranged.

The woman delivered a healthy baby girl on the train. After the delivery, both the mother and the newborn were shifted to Elamanchili Government Hospital in a 108 ambulance.

Officials confirmed that both the mother and baby are safe and healthy. The train was halted at the station for about 40 minutes to manage the situation.

Railway staff ensured privacy by asking male passengers to leave the coach. Their timely action helped ensure a safe delivery.

This incident highlights the importance of quick response and human support during emergencies.
