In this captivating narrative, Dosanjh portrays Detective Sherdil, an unorthodox investigator noted for his sharp intellect and playful charm. The plot begins in Budapest, where a wealthy and flamboyant billionaire, played by the versatile Boman Irani, is found murdered in a gruesome fashion.

This sparks a complicated investigation that plunges Detective Sherdil deep into the tumultuous realm of the tycoon’s family and business interests.

Assisting Sherdil in this thrilling case is Natasha, played by Diana Penty, a clever and level-headed investigator who perfectly complements Sherdil’s quirky demeanor. Together, they navigate a complex web of family rivalries, enormous stakes, and deep-seated secrets. As they delve deeper, the case becomes increasingly convoluted, with each family member concealing information that could alter everything.

The film boasts a strong supporting cast, including Ratna Pathak Shah, Chunky Panday, Sumeet Vyas, Banita Sandhu, Kashmira Irani, and more.

Director Ravi Chhabriya expressed his enthusiasm about casting Diljit in the titular role, stating, “From the start, I envisioned the detective as someone with charm, wit, and a touch of flair. Diljit also shared his thoughts on portraying the character, describing it as “a fun departure” from his typical roles. “Detective Sherdil’s quirks and personality allowed me to explore something new. I thoroughly enjoyed immersing myself in his world and hope the audience finds the journey just as enjoyable,” he said.

The film’s trailer, shared by Zee5 on their Instagram, promises an exciting adventure with the tagline: “A murder with numerous suspects. And a detective with the key to everyone’s heart. Are you ready?”

“Detective Sherdil” is scheduled to premiere exclusively on Zee5 on June 20, 2025.
