On Instagram, she shared a touching photo with her father, Prakash Padukone, a badminton icon and former World No. 1, reflecting on how the sport has played a pivotal role in her life. Deepika expressed, “Having grown up playing badminton, I understand how significantly this sport can impact one’s life—physically, mentally, and emotionally.”

The post also marked a significant achievement for the Padukone School of Badminton (PSB), a project she has been developing with her father. In just one year, PSB has established over 75 coaching centers across 18 cities in India.

From bustling metropolises like Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Delhi NCR to smaller towns such as Mysuru, Panipat, and Sangli, the school is continuously expanding its reach.

Deepika shared her vision for the initiative: “With the Padukone School of Badminton, we aim to spread the joy and discipline of the sport to people from all walks of life, fostering a generation that is healthier, more focused, and inspired by athleticism.”

The mission of PSB is straightforward yet impactful: “Badminton for All.” The academy’s goal goes beyond producing champions; it seeks to make the sport accessible to everyone—whether you’re a school student, a professional, or someone looking to stay active.

With Deepika’s financial backing and Prakash Padukone’s guidance, the academy has ambitious plans, aiming to reach 100 centers by the end of this year and grow to 250 centers in the next three years.

Beyond expanding locations, PSB is also focused on creating pathways for future coaches, having already trained over 100 coaches through a structured certification program.
