Chunky Panday Reveals Ananya Panday Felt ‘Uncomfortable’ While Working on ‘Liger’
In ‘Liger,’ Ananya starred alongside Vijay Deverakonda, with Karan Johar as a backer of the film. Despite her doubts, she decided to proceed based on her father’s advice. Chunky mentioned, “When she approached me about taking on this film, she expressed concern over her age, saying, ‘Papa, I’m too young to do this.’ I told her to go for it since it was a significant commercial film – but perhaps she was right; she was a bit too young for the role.”
Reflecting on the situation, Chunky pointed out that Ananya made her debut at 18, yet her youthful appearance often made her look even younger, around 16. He acknowledged her discomfort at the time, stating, “She felt uncertain, thinking, ‘Maybe I’m too young for this.’ She was understandably confused.”
He further clarified that after ‘Liger,’ he refrained from influencing her career choices. Chunky admitted that had Ananya sought his opinion on ‘Call Me Bae,’ he would have advised against it. “After that experience, I never pressured her again. Maybe I was wrong; I tend to be old-fashioned. If she had asked me about ‘Bae,’ I would have said no.” Interestingly, ‘Call Me Bae’ turned out to be a hit, showcasing Ananya’s vibrant and lively persona.
In a prior conversation with We Are Yuvaa’s YouTube channel, Ananya expressed her disappointment regarding ‘Liger’s poor performance at the box office, stating, “I was sad and upset about how it went.” When her father remarked that sometimes one has to take on a film, she asserted, “No, you can’t give me advice after Liger.” Looking forward, she has ‘Kesari Chapter 2’ on the horizon.

Blue Line Metro Opening Likely to Be Delayed to 2027
Mangluru: The much-awaited Namma Metro Blue Line project is likely to face another delay.
The Blue Line will connect Silk Board with KR Puram and link the busy Outer Ring Road (ORR) with the city’s major IT corridors.
The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) had earlier planned to start commercial operations by the end of 2026.
However, the opening may now be pushed to early or mid-2027. Several civil and system works are still pending.
The Byappanahalli depot work is one of the major concerns. The depot is important for the operation and maintenance of metro trains.
The work to connect the Blue Line with the depot is yet to be completed.
Construction of metro viaducts is also pending at Marathahalli and the Central Silk Board junctions.
The project has also faced technical challenges at Iblur. These include the presence of a high-pressure GAIL gas pipeline and a Cauvery water supply pipeline.
Land acquisition issues have also affected the construction of the station.
Work at Silk Board has also been delayed. BMRCL received permission for pillar construction from traffic police and civic agencies only after some delay.
BMRCL is trying to begin trial runs between KR Puram and HSR Layout by October 2026.
However, officials have indicated that commercial operations on the Blue Line will not be possible in 2026.
The delay has raised concerns about traffic congestion on the ORR.
The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) is planning to begin white-topping work on the ORR from October 2026. The project is estimated to cost around Rs.450 crore.
If the road work begins before the Blue Line becomes operational, traffic problems could increase on the busy IT corridor.
Around 8 to 10 lakh employees and other commuters use this corridor every day.

In view of the expected traffic disruption, Minister Krishna Byre Gowda has asked officials to discuss the possibility of allowing companies to provide up to 50 per cent work-from-home facilities for their employees.
The Blue Line is expected to provide major relief to commuters once it becomes fully operational.
