Chinese Blockbuster ‘Ne Zha 2’ Set to Release in Indian Theaters

The highly anticipated Chinese animated blockbuster ‘Ne Zha 2’ is set to make its debut in Indian theaters on April 25. Directed by Jiaozi, this film has been breaking box office records globally since its release. With a budget of $80 million, it has grossed an astounding $2 billion worldwide, overtaking ‘Inside Out 2’ to claim the title of the highest-grossing animated film of all time. Additionally, it ranks as the fifth highest-grossing film in history, surpassing ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens.’

Under Jiaozi’s direction, Encore Films and Warner Bros. Discovery, India are collaborating as distributors for ‘Ne Zha 2.’ The film will be released in its original Mandarin with English subtitles.

Since its theatrical release, ‘Ne Zha 2’ has earned over $2 billion globally, primarily driven by domestic sales. This achievement marks the film as the highest-grossing movie ever in a single market. It also holds the position as the fifth most lucrative film of all time, following classics like ‘Titanic’ ($2.2 billion), ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ ($2.3 billion), ‘Avengers: Endgame’ ($2.7 billion), and ‘Avatar’ ($2.9 billion). Furthermore, ‘Ne Zha 2’ ranks as the sixth largest IMAX release in history.
