Vicky Kaushal’s highly anticipated film ‘Chhaava’ is experiencing significant box office success, but it is also battling a serious issue with piracy, as the movie has been leaked online. The Mumbai Police have filed a First Information Report (FIR) in response to the illegal distribution of the film across a staggering 1,818 online platforms.

Rajat Rahul Haksar, CEO of August Entertainment—an anti-piracy organization representing Maddock Films—submitted the complaint, highlighting the concerning number of unauthorized links that are spreading ‘Chhaava’ rapidly. In a prompt response, the South Cyber Police Station has charged the offenders under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Copyright Act, the Cinematograph Act (2023 Amendment), and the Information Technology Act.

Despite the challenge posed by piracy, ‘Chhaava’ has broken records at the box office, surpassing the ₹500 crore mark! Directed by Laxman Utekar, this period drama has now become Vicky Kaushal’s most successful film to date, eclipsing his earlier hits such as ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike,’ ‘Raazi,’ ‘Sam Bahadur,’ and ‘Zara Hatke Zara Bachke.’
