Charanjit Singh Channi Celebrates First Birthday of Sidhu Moosewala’s Brother
Channi shared a video from the celebration on his Instagram account, in which the birthday boy, dressed in a black kurta, pyjama, and a pink turban, was seen with his mother, Charan Kaur, as the family came together to cut the cake. Following the cake-cutting, Channi himself offered a piece of cake to the little one.
In the background, a large cutout of Sidhu Moosewala was surrounded by colorful balloons. Balkaur Singh, the late singer’s father, stood beside his wife and younger son, deeply immersed in the emotions of the day.
Balkaur Singh had joyfully announced the arrival of his younger son last year, expressing his gratitude. In a touching Instagram post, he wrote in Punjabi, “With the blessings of millions who loved Shubdeep, the Almighty has blessed us with Shubh’s younger brother. With Waheguru’s blessings, the family is healthy, and I am thankful to all our well-wishers for their overwhelming love.”

The birthday celebration stirred up cherished memories of Sidhu Moosewala, who left an irreplaceable gap in the music industry. The singer, tragically murdered on May 29, 2022, in Mansa, continues to resonate as one of the most powerful voices in Punjabi music.
Moosewala first gained recognition through his hit track “So High,” and his debut album PBX 1 made it to number 66 on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart. His popular singles “47” and “Mera Na” even featured on the UK Singles Chart, demonstrating his global influence.
Besides his musical endeavors, Moosewala ventured into politics by joining the Indian National Congress (INC) in 2021 and contested in the 2022 Punjab Legislative Assembly elections but did not win.
Tragically, just months later, he was assassinated by unidentified assailants. The gangster Goldy Brar and members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang later claimed responsibility, citing a feud between gangs.
His first posthumous release, “SYL,” was launched in June 2022 and received an outpouring of support from fans around the world.
