CET Application Process Simplified

Bengaluru: The process of filling out CET applications is set to become easier for rural candidates with the implementation of a new system that enhances security and simplifies existing procedures. Karnataka’s Higher Education Minister, Dr. M.C. Sudhakar, announced the initiative, which will allow candidates to complete their applications using mobile phones, eliminating the need for cyber center visits.

Speaking at the foundation-laying ceremony of a new Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) building in Malleswaram on Monday, Dr. Sudhakar assured that the revised system, designed to simplify the CET process, includes robust security measures to prevent malpractices. The updated system is expected to be launched soon.

The new KEA building, being constructed at a cost of ₹30 crore, had its foundation laid by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. During the event, the Chief Minister distributed certificates to candidates who qualified for CET-2024 exams.

Dr. Sudhakar also introduced a “One-Time Registration” portal for recruitment exams, enabling candidates to register once and reuse the same registration number for future exams, thus streamlining the application process. Additionally, the Minister announced plans to implement Computer-Based Testing (CBT) for recruitment exams to enhance transparency. Discussions with organizations like KPSC and Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences are already underway. Initially, exams with fewer candidates will adopt the CBT system, with plans to expand it to all exams in the future.

The Minister unveiled a 12-page booklet titled CET Guidelines Manual, which contains detailed information about CET 2025. This booklet will be distributed to PUC students in government, government-aided, Navodaya, and Kendriya Vidyalayas.

The state of Karnataka is celebrating Kannada Rajyotsava today with great pride and enthusiasm. The day marks the formation of the modern state of Karnataka on November 1, 1956, when all Kannada-speaking regions were united to form the then Mysore State. The day also recognizes the achievements of individuals who have made remarkable contributions to the state through the prestigious Rajyotsava Awards, Karnataka’s second-highest civilian honor.

The celebrations began with the hoisting of the Karnataka flag and the singing of the state anthem. Government offices, schools, and institutions organized cultural programs showcasing traditional music, folk dances, and art performances. Streets and public buildings across cities and towns were decorated with red and yellow flags, symbolizing the colors of Karnataka.

Many schools and colleges held special assemblies to teach students about the significance of the day. People from all walks of life participated in rallies and events to express their love for the Kannada language.

The festival was not limited to Karnataka alone. Kannadiga communities living in other parts of India and abroad also celebrated the day with equal excitement, organizing cultural gatherings and community events.
