CBFC Calls for Revisions to Political Scenes in Salman Khan’s ‘Sikandar’
According to a report from Bollywood Hungama, the CBFC requested that the term ‘home’ be muted from ‘Home Minister’ in relevant instances, and also suggested blurring any political party signage present in a particular scene. The remainder of the action sequences and dialogue were approved without any alterations.
The report further details that the filmmakers chose to cut a total of 14 minutes worth of footage, which included trimming 26 scenes from the film. Notable cuts included a 2-minute and 26-second scene featuring the line ‘Chaar miss call…chalo Rajkot,’ a 4-minute scene with the dialogue ‘Aa gaye aa gaye…bad husband,’ and a 1-minute and 12-second sequence with ‘Usse leke aata hoon.’
In addition, a sequence where Salman’s character Sanjay sings ‘Ajeeb Dastaan Hai Yeh’ has been shortened by 11 seconds. After these changes, the total runtime of ‘Sikandar,’ directed by AR Murugadoss, is set at approximately 2 hours, 15 minutes, and 47 seconds.
As fans eagerly await the film’s release, director AR Murugadoss recently offered a glimpse into Salman’s iconic entry. With Rashmika Mandanna of ‘Pushpa’ fame alongside him, expectations are high for what promises to be a cinematic spectacle. Murugadoss stated in an interview with Pinkvilla that Salman’s introduction in ‘Sikandar’ transcends a mere scene; it’s an event in itself. “I’ve collaborated with many stars, but Salman sir’s entry in Sikandar is truly special. We ensured his introduction became one of the film’s standout moments,” he shared.
Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by AR Murugadoss, ‘Sikandar’ marks the reunion of Salman and Sajid after their successful 2014 film ‘Kick.’ With anticipation building, fans are counting down the days for the film’s premiere. Alongside Salman and Rashmika, the cast includes Sathyaraj, Kajal Aggarwal, and Prateik Babbar in key roles.
