BTS’ Jungkook Becomes Victim of Identity Theft as 8 Million Won in Stocks are Stolen
According to a Biz Hankook report, the incident took place on January 6, 2024—just a month following Jungkook’s enlistment. The unidentified suspect reportedly opened three securities accounts in the singer’s name and used his identity to transfer 33,500 shares of HYBE without authorization. Of these, 33,000 shares, worth approximately 8.3 billion Won, were moved to another account opened under Jungkook’s name, while the perpetrator sold 500 shares for around 126 million Won to a third party.
Considering the nature of the access required for such fraudulent activities, it is suspected that the culprit may have had access to Jungkook’s personal information, including sensitive data like banking details, identification, and securities account information.
Upon learning about these unauthorized transactions, Jungkook’s agency, BIGHIT Music, promptly froze all of his accounts to prevent further financial loss. In March 2024, Jungkook initiated a civil lawsuit, seeking the return of the 500 shares sold to the third party. The Seoul district court ruled in his favor, stating, “There was no valid stock transfer agreement, and Jungkook is merely a victim of identity theft.” The court dismissed the third party’s defense, asserting that they were negligent for not verifying the identity of the stockholder, especially given the shares belonged to a major shareholder. Additionally, the court mandated that the third party return the funds they had received for the stolen shares, which were purchased for roughly $20,000 in cryptocurrency.
Despite the court’s decision, the actual perpetrator behind the identity theft remains unknown. An investigation is ongoing, but there have been no significant leads as of yet.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay retained the Perambur constituency after winning from two seats in the Assembly election and resigned from the Tiruchchi East seat.
Reports now suggest that popular actor, director, and choreographer Raghava Lawrence may contest the upcoming by-election from Tiruchchi East on behalf of Vijay’s TVK party. The news has been widely discussed on social media.
Raghava Lawrence is known for his charitable work and support for differently-abled people, orphaned children, and senior citizens. His strong public image is seen as an advantage if he enters the race.
Earlier, rumours claimed that actress Trisha Krishnan would contest from the constituency, but those reports were later dismissed.

The by-election for Tiruchchi East has not yet been announced, and there has been no official confirmation regarding the party’s candidate. However, reports indicate that Vijay may choose a close associate to contest from the seat.
Film : Kannada star actor Duniya Vijay is set to appear in the upcoming Telugu film Slum Dog. The movie stars Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role and is directed by Puri Jagannadh.
The film has already created a positive buzz in the Telugu film industry. Reports suggest that Duniya Vijay will be seen in a unique and important role.
The makers have announced that the first teaser of Slum Dog will be released on June 8. They also shared a new poster featuring Vijay Sethupathi holding a blood-stained weapon.
The film is said to be based on life in a slum and revolves around a beggar mafia story. Earlier, the team released a poster of Duniya Vijay in a colorful outfit and hat, creating curiosity about his character.
