BTS’ Jungkook Achieves Gold Status in the UK with ‘Seven’

BTS member Jungkook has reached a new milestone with his track “Seven” featuring Latto! This song from Jungkook’s solo album **GOLDEN** has officially earned him his first BRIT gold certification in the United Kingdom. Additionally, the music video for “Seven” has surpassed an impressive half a billion streams on YouTube.

On March 21, the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) announced that “Seven” had received the prestigious BRIT gold certification, marking it as Jungkook’s first solo track to reach this achievement. According to BPI’s certification criteria, singles are awarded gold status after selling 400,000 units, while albums achieve this at 100,000 units sold. This accomplishment makes “Seven” the first debut single by a K-pop artist to be certified gold in the UK.

The following day, on March 22, BIGHIT shared that the music video for “Seven” had officially exceeded 500 million views on YouTube. This marks a significant milestone for the K-pop idol, as it is now his first solo music video to achieve this feat. Moreover, it is also the first-ever solo debut music video by a male K-pop artist to reach this remarkable milestone.

In addition, last year on September 2, the BPI revealed that Jungkook’s debut solo album, **GOLDEN**, received a BRIT Silver Certification in the UK. The BPI awards the Silver Certification to albums that sell 60,000 units, making Jungkook the first-ever Korean solo artist to earn this honor in the UK.

Featuring catchy lyrics and groovy beats, “Seven,” released on July 14, 2023, quickly became a hit. The song was unveiled in two versions: the explicit version featuring American artist Latto, and a clean version featuring only Jungkook. The music video also showcased actress Han So Hee from “Nevertheless” and “My Name.” Upon its release, “Seven” topped several prestigious charts, including the Billboard Hot 100, and its infectious chorus and vibrant music continue to resonate with K-pop fans worldwide.
