Brother of Slain Maha Official Appeals to CM to Safeguard Evidence from Manipulation

Dhananjay Deshmukh, brother of the slain sarpanch of Massajog village, Santosh Deshmukh, has called upon Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to prevent an alleged plot to destroy crucial evidence contained in the mobile phone of one of the murder suspects, Vishnu Chate.

Dhananjay Deshmukh expressed concerns about the police’s accountability should the evidence on Chate’s phone be compromised. He has also requested that Chief Minister Fadnavis ensure that all individuals accused in the Santosh Deshmukh murder case are placed in police custody once more.

“Vishnu Chate’s mobile phone holds significant evidence. There’s a conspiracy at play to make this phone vanish. Simply filing a case won’t suffice. Will the police and administration accept responsibility if this evidence is lost? The Chief Minister must guarantee that all suspects are taken back into police custody to locate Vishnu Chate’s phone,” Dhananjay Deshmukh stated.

Meanwhile, a petition has been submitted to the Aurangabad bench of the Bombay High Court concerning Maharashtra’s Food and Civil Supplies Minister, Dhananjay Munde. The petition, filed by Rajabhau Shriram Phad, accuses Munde of withholding key information during his election nomination for the MLA elections in the Parli assembly constituency located in Beed district, Maharashtra.

Although Munde acknowledged two children in his affidavit to the Election Commission, he did not mention his wife, Karuna Munde. The petition also claims that Munde concealed information regarding vehicles, real estate, insurance policies, gold assets, joint bank accounts, properties, and pending court cases associated with Karuna Munde. The Aurangabad bench has issued notices to Dhananjay Munde, with the next hearing scheduled for February 20.

In a related matter, Ambadas Danve, Leader of Opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Council and MLA from Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena, has called for the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to investigate the alleged financial connections between Dhananjay Munde and his associate, Valmik Karad, who has been accused of murdering BJP sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh.

“The financial ties between Dhananjay Munde and Valmik Karad warrant an investigation by the ED,” Danve asserted.
