BJP Calls for Fair Investigation into Alleged Recruitment Irregularities in the Assembly

Published

on

The BJP has called for an unbiased investigation into the alleged irregularities surrounding the recruitment process in the State Legislative Assembly. In a statement made on Thursday, Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur emphasized the seriousness of the questions raised regarding the Assembly‘s recruitment actions.

“The state government must address the grave allegations of irregularities brought forth by job applicants. Clarification is necessary, as these claims undermine trust in the integrity of the entire recruitment process. Thus, an investigation should be initiated to ensure transparency and fairness,” he asserted.

Thakur further noted that concerns regarding the Assembly recruitment are echoing across the state, with social media flooded with allegations of widespread irregularities reported by numerous candidates and citizens. He characterized these claims as deeply troubling and mentioned having received messages from thousands of young people in the state, all seeking answers about the recruitment process and the chosen candidates.

“All these inquiries are valid, and the claims being made deserve serious attention. There appears to be significant corruption involved. To get to the bottom of this issue, a comprehensive investigation is imperative,” he stated, reiterating the BJP‘s demand for a thorough examination of the entire recruitment process.

Thakur also highlighted the Congress party’s campaign promise to create jobs for one lakh youth annually upon taking office. “Their first pledge was to allocate employment to one lakh individuals in their inaugural Cabinet meeting. Women aged 18 to 59 were promised Rs 1,500 under an honorarium scheme, and financial assistance for youth under a startup initiative. The ten assurances made by Congress during the Himachal Assembly elections will be remembered as significant deceptions in the realm of Indian politics,” he remarked.

He criticized the government’s claims of ‘Vyavastha Parivartan’ (change in governance) and their promises of youth employment, asserting that the reality is more than 2 lakh positions have been eliminated since they took office.

He further alleged that the largest recruitment commission, which oversees hiring, has become inefficient. He stated that shortly after assuming power, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu disbanded the body responsible for job creation and that results from recruitment efforts carried out by the previous administration remain undisclosed. “There are also allegations of bias regarding the ongoing recruitments,” he added.

“The Chief Minister has been making empty promises and needs to realize that mere rhetoric is insufficient; a proper examination of the recruitment process is mandatory,” Thakur concluded.
