BJP-AAP Clash: Prompt Police Response Averts Crisis in Jafrabad
The conflict began around 11:50 am when the BJP candidate from the Seelampur constituency accused the AAP candidate of fraudulent voting at the Aryan Public School polling center. This accusation triggered a heated exchange of slogans between the two party factions, prompting police intervention to restore order before the situation escalated.
Following a complaint, police officers arrived at the scene with additional personnel and managed to defuse the situation. As of now, the police have not received any formal complaints from either party.
In a separate incident in North Delhi, allegations surfaced that police officers in Sainik Vihar had coerced a voter to vote for a specific party. A flying squad team was promptly dispatched to investigate the claims. Upon arrival and after consulting with the polling agents of various political parties, police confirmed that voters were casting their ballots freely, and the video evidence received had been misleading.
“We assure the public of our dedication to upholding the integrity of the election process and will continue to monitor all related activities,” stated a post from the Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) on X.
Additionally, authorities have detained an AAP worker for allegedly distributing incentives and transporting voters to polling locations in South Avenue. Further investigations are underway, and legal action will be taken based on the findings, as posted by the DCP South on X.
