Published

on

Bengaluru: RCB fans are eagerly awaiting the Karnataka government’s decision on hosting IPL matches at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Authorities are expected to announce the official verdict today after reviewing safety measures.

The move comes in the wake of the earlier stampede tragedy, where a committee found serious lapses in crowd control, entry and exit arrangements, and emergency planning. In response, the KSCA has implemented key upgrades, including wider gates, enhanced security checks, additional CCTV cameras, and improved medical and fire emergency access.

An inspection report will be submitted to the Home Minister, followed by discussions with KSCA and RCB officials before the final decision is made. The government will also assess whether the stadium is ready to host the high-profile opening match, which is likely to draw massive crowds.

on

Bengaluru: Hotels in Bengaluru are facing serious problems due to a shortage of gas cylinders. Because of this situation, the Central Government has now allowed the distribution of 20% commercial gas.

Due to the gas emergency, many hotels in the city have remained closed. Some hotels are continuing operations by using alternative arrangements. The hotel industry has already suffered an estimated loss of around Rs.100 crore because of the shortage.

Hotel owners say they are struggling to get gas cylinders. They also claim that cylinders are being sold in the black market at double the price, but strict action has not been taken yet.

Amid this crisis, the Central Government has directed that 20% of commercial gas should be supplied. Following this order, the state government has instructed gas agencies to provide 20% gas to commercial users.

Meanwhile, the Bengaluru Hotel Association will meet the Chief Secretary of the Karnataka government today. During the meeting, they will explain the losses and the difficulties faced by hotels due to the gas shortage.

Hotel owners say hotels usually need about 15% gas supply to run smoothly. They say even 7% supply would help many hotels operate. However, they claim that they are currently receiving only about 2% gas, which is forcing many hotels to shut down.
