Published

on

Udupi :While most Independence Day celebrations take place in schools, government offices, and public venues, one auto-rickshaw driver in Udupi marked the occasion in a unique and heartwarming way—by celebrating with schoolchildren and decorating his vehicle with patriotic flair.

Jayakar Kundar, an auto driver from Katapady, transformed his rickshaw into a symbol of national pride by adorning it with vibrant decorations and a giant Indian flag. Known in the community for his enthusiastic participation in national festivals, Jayakar decorates his auto during every Independence Day, Republic Day, and even Diwali, spreading festive spirit on the streets.

This year, he celebrated the 79th Independence Day by involving the young passengers he regularly ferries to school. The children were delighted to see the grand decorations and especially thrilled by the enormous tricolour that fluttered proudly on his rickshaw.

The scene captured the attention of locals, many of whom stopped to admire the patriotically themed vehicle. Jayakar’s initiative brought smiles to the faces of the students and added a special personal touch to the national celebration.

His gesture stands as a shining example of how patriotism can be expressed in everyday life and how individuals, regardless of profession, can contribute to the spirit of unity and celebration.
