At NXT Conclave 2025, PM Modi Critiques ‘Lutyens Jamaat’ for Their Selective Response to Individual Liberty

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his address at the NXT Conclave 2025 in Delhi on Saturday, sharply criticized the so-called ‘Lutyens’ Jamaat’ and the ‘Khan Market Gang’ for their longstanding silence on matters concerning individual liberty. He specifically referred to the now-repealed colonial-era Dramatic Performance Act, stating, “I am astonished that the ‘Lutyens’ Jamaat’ and ‘Khan Market Gang’ have remained quiet all these years. These self-appointed guardians of Public Interest Litigation, who frequently visit the Courts, didn’t express concern for liberty during that time.”

Modi pointed out the absurdity of the law, explaining that under it, if more than 10 individuals danced at a wedding, the police could arrest both the dancers and the groom. He emphasized, “The British introduced the Dramatic Performance Act 150 years ago, and it remained in effect even 75 years after our independence. Our government has since abolished that law. I won’t comment on the government or leaders of that era.”

He suggested that had he attempted to introduce such a law, he would have faced severe backlash. “Just imagine if Modi had implemented this Dramatic Performances Act. The response would have been fierce. If trolls were to spread false rumors about it, they would have said, ‘They would set fire to things, they would pull Modi’s hair.’ But it is our government that has removed this colonial-era legislation,” he remarked.

The Prime Minister went on to discuss India’s rising prominence on the global stage and its influence in international affairs, referencing the country’s involvement in multiple Global Summits. “India is actively participating in several Global Summits. Recently, I had the privilege of attending the AI Summit in France, where India served as a co-host, demonstrating our leadership and influence in advancing global initiatives; now it is time for India to host the Summit.”

He continued, “India successfully hosted the G20 Summit and introduced a new economic route to the world with the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEEC). We also amplified the voice of the Global South by welcoming the African Union as a G20 member. Our commitment to prioritizing island nations remains strong,” Modi concluded.

UP Teen Dies in Street Racing Crash In Lucknow

Uttar Pradesh: A 17-year-old Class 12 student died in a road accident during a street race in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, on Sunday.

The victim, Naitik Kumar, was riding a Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 with a group of bikers near Janeshwar Mishra Park. While racing, he suddenly lost control of his bike after hitting something on the road.

His bike crashed into a Honda Activa in front of him. He then fell onto a road divider and suffered serious head injuries.

The Activa slid across the road and hit another bike, a Kawasaki Ninja, which was moving at high speed. The Ninja rider was adjusting his action camera when the accident happened.

Naitik Kumar was rushed to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared him dead. Police said he was not wearing proper protective gear.

Two others involved in the accident suffered minor injuries. Police are checking CCTV footage to find the exact cause of the crash.

BCM Hostel Manager Dies by Suicide

Hassan: A hostel manager working under the Backward Classes Welfare Department died by suicide in Channarayapatna of Hassan district.

The deceased has been identified as Lokesh (45). He had been serving as a warden for two hostels in Guddenahalli, Hassan, and was recently promoted as a hostel manager a few days ago. Following the promotion, he was posted as the manager of the BCM hostel in Channarayapatna.

According to reports, Lokesh allegedly died by suicide by hanging himself at his residence on Saturday night.

The exact reason for his suicide is not yet known. Local police visited the spot, conducted a preliminary inspection, and have begun an investigation into the incident.
