Popular YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani has announced that he will not be hosting an upcoming event on Valentine’s Day due to health concerns. His decision comes amid a rising controversy related to the YouTube show “India’s Got Latent.”

On Thursday, Chanchlani shared his announcement on Instagram, stating, “Hello Doston, I am feeling unwell, so unfortunately, I won’t be able to attend and host the screening of the film ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ on Valentine’s Day. However, those who are selected can still go and enjoy the show. I’m going to miss you all so much! Love you 3000.”

This news coincides with an update from Assam Police, which confirmed that both Ashish Chanchlani and fellow YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia have been summoned in relation to an FIR against several content creators. The case, registered under Cyber PS case no. 03/2025, alleges that the individuals promoted obscenity and engaged in vulgar discussions on “India’s Got Latent.” The FIR was filed by Alok Boruah from Nayanpur, Guwahati, and includes Chanchlani, stand-up comedian Jaspreet Singh, content creators Apoorva Makhija, Ranveer Allahbadia, and Samay Raina, among others.

The allegations pertain to violations under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the IT Act, the Cinematograph Act, and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.

As the legal scrutiny deepens, Assam Police have dispatched officers to Mumbai for further investigation. In the meantime, stand-up comedian Samay Raina, who served as the host of “India’s Got Latent,” announced via Instagram that he has removed all videos of the show from his channel. He expressed his distress over the situation, saying, “Everything that has been happening has been overwhelming. I have removed all ‘India’s Got Latent’ videos from my channel. My only aim was to entertain and bring joy. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure a fair resolution.”

Similarly, Ranveer Allahbadia publicly apologized after facing backlash for comments made on the show. In a video statement, he recognized that his remarks were inappropriate and conveyed his regret. “My comment wasn’t just inappropriate; it wasn’t even funny. Comedy isn’t my specialty; I’m just here to say sorry,” he admitted.

He also underscored his obligations as a content creator, noting the diverse ages of his audience. “The podcast is viewed by people of all ages, and I don’t want to take that responsibility lightly. Family is the last thing I would ever disrespect. I need to utilize this platform more wisely; that’s the lesson I’ve drawn from this experience,” he added.
