Armaan Malik Reflects on the Innocence of ’90s Love Songs
Armaan expressed, “I firmly believe that innocence was a significant aspect of 90s music. Over the years, love songs have often felt somewhat pretentious, relying on fictional scenarios and lacking an honest portrayal of love. This pure essence was so strong in the songs of the 90s, which is precisely what we aimed to capture in ‘Pehla Nasha 2.0.’ This version evokes that first-flutter feeling of young romance, something that seems to be lacking in today’s music.”
He further noted, “The love songs I’m known for, like ‘Sab Tera’ and ‘Sau Asmaan,’ along with others crafted with Amaal over the years, embody that same spirit of innocence and genuine love that we also see in 90s music. I’m grateful for the chance to bring back that purity of love.”
“Pehla Nasha 2.0” was composed by Amaal Malik, with lyrics written by Rashmi Virag.
In other news, global music icon Ed Sheeran is currently in India for his Mathematics tour. During the Hyderabad concert, he took a moment to acknowledge Armaan Malik, praising him as both a talented artist and a true friend. Ed said, “I met him in 2021, and our journey since then has been incredible. He is such a wonderful friend, and I’m thrilled he’s here tonight. Let’s give a round of applause for Armaan Malik.”
