Actor Arjun Rampal, set to appear in the second season of the popular streaming series ‘Rana Naidu’, has spoken about his role, stating that it’s the most ruthless character he has ever portrayed.

His character, Rauf, is the latest and most dangerous addition to a cast that features Rana Daggubati in the lead role.

Discussing Rauf, Arjun remarked, “He’s the most ruthless and terrifyingly real character I’ve ever played.”

Rauf is depicted as a man devoid of empathy, driven by chaos, and capable of extreme violence. Yet, amid this destruction, there exists a deeply human side. “There’s a sliver of vulnerability—particularly in how he loves his niece; she’s the only person he protects without question,” Rampal shared.

“What made playing Rauf so challenging was his ability to show tenderness even while being thoroughly consumed by darkness,” he added.

Created by Karan Anshuman and directed by Anshuman, Suparn Verma, and Abhay Chopra, the series is produced by Locomotive Global Media.

Previously, Anshuman recounted a humorous incident during filming when Rana Daggubati improvised his lines, leading to unintended consequences. During a heated standoff with his uncle, Venkatesh Daggubati—who plays his estranged father—both actors began speaking in Telugu. Karan, having a basic understanding of the language, anticipated that it would elevate the scene, but he was taken aback when he heard the word “biryani.”

The show is set to premiere on Netflix on June 13.
