Arjun Kapoor Describes Returning to Rom-Coms as a ‘Reunion with an Old Friend’

Actor Arjun Kapoor is gearing up for his upcoming romantic-comedy film, “Mere Husband Ki Biwi,” and describes returning to this genre as akin to “reuniting with an old friend.”

“I’ve been lucky that audiences have embraced me in romantic roles in films like ‘2 States’ and ‘Ki & Ka.’ It’s refreshing to dive back into lighthearted storytelling. I sincerely hope the audience shows me the same affection and acceptance for ‘Mere Husband Ki Biwi’,” shared Arjun, who has previously starred in hits like “2 States” and “Ki & Ka.”

The actor, who was most recently seen as the formidable Danger Lanka in Rohit Shetty’s “Singham Again,” expressed his excitement about shifting gears back to the rom-com genre. “After playing Danger Lanka, it’s wonderful to return to the world of romantic comedies. It truly feels like reconnecting with an old friend,” he remarked.

Arjun conveyed his passion for heartwarming narratives filled with laughter and love, saying that “Mere Husband Ki Biwi” beautifully captures this essence. “My aim is to create content that resonates with the audience, so I’m thrilled to be part of a project in this genre,” he added.

The film also features Rakul Preet Singh and Bhumi Pednekar. On February 6, the creators unveiled a new track titled “Gori Hai Kalaiyan,” composed by the duo Akshay and IP.

Discussing the song, director Mudassar Aziz explained that the intention was to evoke the nostalgic vibe of classic ‘filmy’ songs that define Hindi cinema. “I have always cherished these songs, and ‘Mere Husband Ki Biwi’ provides a wonderful opportunity to explore that tradition,” he noted.

Rapper Badshah described “Gori Hai Kalaiyan” as the perfect anthem for the season. “It’s energetic, upbeat, and has that quintessential filmy vibe. I had an amazing time working on this track, and I promise the audience will be dancing along to ‘Gori Hai Kalaiyan’!”
