Anti-Corruption Activist Uncovers Evidence of Corruption Involving Munde
The documents Damania presented relate to purported irregularities in Munde’s department during his tenure as agriculture minister. Damania accused Munde of overseeing a Rs 88-crore scam while he was in office with the previous Mahayuti coalition government. She asserted that, contrary to a 2016 Union government directive mandating direct transfers of funds to farmers’ bank accounts under the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) Scheme, Munde’s department procured equipment and fertilizers at inflated prices for farmers.
“These documents highlight how a minister misappropriated funds meant for farmers and disregarded existing laws. According to the government resolution (GR) on DBT, all funds related to schemes were to be deposited directly into farmers’ accounts, except for specific government entities like Mahabeej, KVK, and MAIDC that produce their own goods. However, this protocol was completely ignored,” Damania claimed.
In response to Damania’s allegations, Sanjay Shirsat, a minister with the Shiv Sena led by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, stated that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis would take the allegations seriously and initiate an inquiry.
However, Munde swiftly denied all accusations and the documents shared by Damania. “This is merely an attempt to tarnish my reputation. Should the government consult Damania to determine purchase prices in the agriculture department? Have any of her claims been substantiated? Damania thrives on sensationalism, but her allegations lack any basis. I extend my best wishes to those who have tasked her with defaming me. Damania is simply a slanderer,” Munde stated.
In retaliation to Munde labeling her as “Badnamia,” Damania responded, “Dhananjay Munde held a press conference hurling insults at me, referring to me not as Damania but Badnamia. If my goal were solely to defame, no one would take me seriously. He can say whatever he likes, but I will present evidence piece by piece to rightfully position him. Had he devoted even a fraction of the time he spent with Valmik Karad to his duties as a minister, he wouldn’t be facing this situation today.” She then proceeded to recite several Government Resolutions (GRs) along with her evidence against Munde.
Meanwhile, former Maharashtra home minister and NCP leader Anil Deshmukh suggested in Nagpur that Damania’s allegations against Munde might be part of a BJP scheme to target the MLAs associated with Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s NCP. “The investigation into the murder case of Sarpanch Deshmukh is underway by various agencies, including the CID. The findings should be submitted promptly to establish accountability. However, despite two months passing, the report has yet to be disclosed, leading to delays in uncovering the truth. Concurrently, BJP MLA Suresh Dhas and now Damania are leveling accusations at Munde, indicating a potential political conspiracy by the BJP aimed at targeting the NCP led by Ajit Pawar,” Deshmukh remarked, though he did not specify what he meant by “target.”

Daughter Held for Mother’s Murder; Father’s Death Also Under Scanner?
Jaipur: A 23-year-old woman, Ayushi Sharma, who was arrested for allegedly plotting her mother’s murder to obtain a government job, is now facing fresh allegations linked to her father’s death.
Ayushi’s uncle has claimed that the death of her father, Vijay Sharma, may not have been natural. He has demanded a police investigation into the case. Police have started looking into the allegation.
According to the police, Ayushi planned the murder of her mother, Neeraj Sharma, with the help of her uncle Mohan Swaroop and her relative Balram alias Ravi. The motive was to gain control of family property and secure her mother’s government job.
Police said the accused paid Rs.7 lakh to contract killers to carry out the murder. The attackers allegedly rammed an SUV into Neeraj Sharma and tried to make it look like a road accident.
Neeraj Sharma, 45, was working as a Lower Division Clerk (LDC) in a court. On July 3, she was returning home after dropping her son at tuition when a speeding Scorpio SUV allegedly hit her near Pratap Nagar. She was thrown nearly 100 feet and died on the spot. The accused fled after the incident.
During the investigation, police examined CCTV footage from the area. They found that the incident was not an accident but a planned murder. The investigation later exposed the conspiracy.
Police have arrested seven people, including Ayushi Sharma, in connection with the case. One accused is still absconding, and efforts are underway to arrest him.

Police said Neeraj Sharma had received the government job on compassionate grounds after the death of her husband about a year ago. Investigators believe Ayushi wanted the job for herself. Police also said there had been a property dispute between the mother and daughter for the past two to three years.
During questioning, Ayushi allegedly told police that she wanted her late father’s government job. However, after his death, the job was given to her mother. She reportedly admitted that this disappointment, along with the property dispute, became the reason for planning the murder.
