In a poignant social media post, he opened up about the personal and professional challenges he has faced over the years, emphasizing that his decision to sever ties with his family was not made lightly, but rather out of necessity.

Amaal, who has made a notable mark in the music industry for over a decade, expressed his emotions in a lengthy Instagram message. He discussed how his unwavering commitment to music and relentless drive for success have often been overshadowed by significant emotional turmoil. As he reflected on his journey, he highlighted the sacrifices he has made and the pain he has endured, despite his tireless efforts to create music that resonates with millions.

“I’ve reached a point where I can no longer remain silent about the pain I’ve suffered. For years, I’ve been made to feel inadequate, despite dedicating countless hours to provide for others,” he shared.

Additionally, Amaal admitted that he had set aside his own aspirations to support those around him, only to face doubt and disrespect in return. He emphasized, “I have invested my blood, sweat, and tears into each of the 126 melodies I’ve released over the last decade,” underscoring the immense dedication he has poured into his work.

The Mallik brothers, Amaal and his younger sibling Armaan, have been celebrated figures in the Bollywood music scene. However, Amaal’s post hinted at a growing rift between them, which he attributes to their parents’ actions. “I made every dream possible for them so they could stand proudly in the world. The journey has been incredible for both of us, yet our parents’ actions have driven a wedge between us,” he lamented, expressing his heartache over their strained relationship.

This revelation has come as a shock to fans, who have always viewed the Mallik brothers as a close-knit musical pair. One of the most painful admissions in Amaal’s post was his struggle with clinical depression. He described how years of negativity and belittlement from his own family have left him feeling emotionally exhausted and mentally drained.

“Over the past years, they have consistently undermined my well-being, dismissing my friendships, relationships, mindset, and self-esteem. Yet, I persevered because I know my strength and believe I am unshakeable,” he wrote.

“Today, I find myself at a crossroads, stripped of my peace, emotionally drained, and possibly financially as well—though that is the least of my worries. What truly matters is that I am clinically depressed because of these experiences.”

In a defining moment of his life, Amaal announced that he will be stepping back from family connections, opting to maintain only professional interactions with them going forward. As the eldest son of veteran composer Daboo Malik and the grandson of Sardar Malik, Amaal made his Bollywood composition debut in 2014 with Salman Khan’s *Jai Ho*. He quickly gained fame with hits such as “Soch Na Sake” (*Airlift*), “Kaun Tujhe” (*M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story*), and “Bol Do Na Zara” (*Azhar*).
