Alva’s Celebrates Independence Day with Patriotic Splendour
Moodbidri: The spirit of patriotism came alive at vidyagiri, Moodbidri, as thousand gathered at the K.V. Subbanna Open Air Theatre to witness the grand Independence Day celebrations organized by Alva’s education foundation. The event, marked by vibrant decorations, cultural unity, And enthusiastic participation, was a fitting tribute to India’s 79th Independence Day.
The venue was adorned with a stunning array of colourful flowers and patriotic elements. The atmosphere was electric, with thousands of waving tricolour flags, patriotic songs echoing from all corners, and the unified voices of students reverberating through the air.
Lieutenant General Ananth Narayan, the chief guest for the occasion, hoisted the National flag and delivered an inspiring Independence Day address, emphasizing national unity, dedication to public service, and the responsibility of youth in nation – building.
Dr. M. Mohan Alva, Chairman of Alva’s Education Foundation, was present alongside dignitaries including Mangalore-Moodbidri MLA Umanath Kotian, trustee Vivek Alva, faculty members, and several distinguished guests.
The visual spectacle was heightened by students dressed in tricolour-themed T-shirts forming orderly rows, creating a stunning frame around the stage. Behind the stage, students holding fluttering national flags added to the grandeur of the celebration.
The event not only celebrated freedom but also showcased cultural richness and educational excellence, leaving a lasting impression on the thousands of spectators who attended.
Alva’s once again demonstrated its tradition of hosting patriotic events with elegance, enthusiasm, and mass participation, making this year’s celebration a memorable tribute to the nation.

93 Students of Alva’s High School Score Above 95%
Mangaluru: The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board has announced the SSLC results for this year. Alva’s High School has achieved excellent results.
Dr. M. Mohan Alva, President of Alva’s Education Foundation, shared the details at a press conference on Thursday. He said that 75 students scored more than 600 marks out of 625.
Several students achieved top scores. Sadhvi P.V. scored 622 marks. Prithviraj Reddy scored 621. Adarsh scored 620. Lakshmi and Pavan Kumar scored 619 each. Shambhavi scored 618. Anvita B scored 617. Shankar Gowda also scored 617. Shreya and Sushmita scored 616 each. Dileep, Keshav, Priyanka, Swati, and Veeresh scored 615 marks each.
A total of 93 students scored above 95 percent. Around 184 students scored above 90 percent. Also, 247 students scored above 85 percent.
Five students scored full marks in four subjects. Thirteen students scored full marks in three subjects. Thirty-seven students scored full marks in two subjects. Eighty-five students scored full marks in one subject.

In total, 139 students of the school scored above 95 percent in the final exam.
The press conference was attended by Prashanth B, Headmaster of Alva’s Kannada Medium School. Vijaya T. Murthy, Headmistress of Alva’s English Medium School, was also present. Administrative Officer Preetham Kunder and Assistant Administrative Officer Rajesh Kumar Shetty were also present.

Antique Jewellery Show Begins at Malabar Gold & Diamonds in Mangaluru
Mangaluru: An antique jewellery exhibition has started at the Malabar Gold & Diamonds showroom in Mangaluru. The event will be held from April 18 to April 27.
The exhibition was inaugurated on April 19. The chief guests were educational trainer, leadership coach, and motivational speaker U. T. Farzana and entrepreneur Vidya Jitendra Kottari. They officially opened the show and welcomed visitors.
Speaking at the event, U. T. Farzana said she has admired Malabar Gold & Diamonds since her childhood. She said the exhibition has a rich collection of antique jewellery. She added that the designs reflect history and skilled craftsmanship. She also said the brand is known for traditional and modern jewellery styles.
Vidya Jitendra Kottari said the showroom offers good customer service. She appreciated the friendly staff and the wide range of designs. She said visiting the showroom is a pleasant experience.
Several officials from the showroom were present at the event. These included Store Head Hafeez Rahman, Branch Manager Raghuram C. S., Marketing Manager Sheikh Farhan, Sales Manager Girish Shetty, and Deputy Sales Manager Sameer.

The antique jewellery show will continue for 10 days. Visitors can see and buy jewellery inspired by ancient designs and traditional styles.

MRPL Celebrates 136th Birth Anniversary of Dr B.R. Ambedkar
Mangaluru: The 136th birth anniversary of B. R. Ambedkar was celebrated at the MRPL premises with respect and dignity.
On the occasion, Managing Director M. Shyamprasad Kamath, Director (Refinery) Nandakumar V. Pillai, and Director (Finance) Devendra Kumar offered floral tributes to the statue of Dr Ambedkar.
Members and office bearers of MSSEWA were present during the event. Senior officials, employees, and their family members also attended the programme.
