Actress Alia Bhatt recently discussed how she and Ranbir Kapoor decided on the name ‘Raha’ for their daughter. During an appearance on Jay Shetty’s ‘On Purpose’ podcast, Alia revealed that the name was suggested by Ranbir’s mother, renowned actress Neetu Kapoor, and it instantly resonated with them.

Alia explained that while the family had already settled on a name for a boy, they were still considering options for a girl. To gather more suggestions, the couple had even set up a family group chat in anticipation of their baby’s arrival. “We were eager parents, asking everyone in the family group to suggest names for both boys and girls to help us prepare,” Alia shared.

Among the numerous suggestions received, a particular boy’s name caught their attention, though Alia opted not to reveal it just yet. When they sought more names for girls, Neetu Kapoor put forth ‘Raha,’ noting that it would pair beautifully with the boy’s name if they were to have a future child.

“Ranbir and I instantly fell in love with the name,” Alia said, emphasizing that they chose ‘Raha’ without hesitation. The name carries a profound meaning, representing peace, joy, and bliss—qualities Alia feels her daughter brings into their lives.

Alia and Ranbir, who married in April 2022 after several years of dating, welcomed Raha in November of the same year. While they have kept their daughter’s face private from the public eye, the couple occasionally shares glimpses into their new life as parents.
