Mangaluru/Bagalkote: The government has decided to implement an AI-based attendance system for both teachers and students in all government schools across the state, announced Minister for Education Madhu Bangarappa in a major update regarding school admissions and teacher appointments.

Speaking on the matter, the minister said, “Several other states have already adopted AI-based facial recognition attendance systems. We are lagging behind in this area. I’m not sure why such initiatives were not taken earlier, but now we are making corrections and will implement this within one and a half months.”

He further added, “We are already providing CET and NEET coaching to 25,000 students within government schools. I have instructed that coaching should be provided to all students who show interest, and this will be implemented soon.”

16,500 Teacher Appointments

“After the implementation of internal reservation policies, 16,500 teachers will be appointed across the state. From this academic year, PU colleges will also be permitted to start in Adarsha Vidyalayas. Priority will be given to providing all schools with basic infrastructure,” he stated.

The state of Karnataka is celebrating Kannada Rajyotsava today with great pride and enthusiasm. The day marks the formation of the modern state of Karnataka on November 1, 1956, when all Kannada-speaking regions were united to form the then Mysore State. The state was later renamed Karnataka in 1973.

Rajyotsava is a celebration of the Kannada language, culture, and heritage. It reminds people of the importance of unity and the shared pride in their roots. The day also recognizes the achievements of individuals who have made remarkable contributions to the state through the prestigious Rajyotsava Awards, Karnataka’s second-highest civilian honor.

The celebrations began with the hoisting of the Karnataka flag and the singing of the state anthem. Government offices, schools, and institutions organized cultural programs showcasing traditional music, folk dances, and art performances. Streets and public buildings across cities and towns were decorated with red and yellow flags, symbolizing the colors of Karnataka.

Many schools and colleges held special assemblies to teach students about the significance of the day. People from all walks of life participated in rallies and events to express their love for the Kannada language.

The festival was not limited to Karnataka alone. Kannadiga communities living in other parts of India and abroad also celebrated the day with equal excitement, organizing cultural gatherings and community events.
