Adi Irani: “Salman Khan Hurled Me into Glass, Resulting in Severe Bleeding!”

In the glamorous realm of Bollywood, where the line between fiction and reality often blurs amidst the flashing cameras, some stories linger in our memories. One such narrative comes from seasoned actor Adi Irani, who recounted a harrowing incident from the shooting of ‘Chori Chori Chupke Chupke’, featuring Salman Khan and Preity Zinta.

During the filming of an action sequence, adrenaline took over, and Salman inadvertently hurled Adi into a glass frame. The outcome was devastating—shards of glass embedded in Adi’s face, causing him to bleed profusely.

Yet what transpired next was a blend of professional resilience and unexpected sentiments. In an interview with Filmymantra, Adi reflected on the ordeal, saying, “While we were shooting, Salman threw me against a glass frame. Glass fragments became lodged in my face, and there was blood everywhere. It was horrific.” Despite his injury, Adi opted to continue filming, aware that halting production could present a financial strain on the producer.

Displaying remarkable professionalism, Adi requested a doctor to provide him with a painkiller and asked the makeup team to conceal his wound with white tape and makeup to match his skin tone. He even proposed a minor adjustment to the scene, suggesting that his character be depicted as getting injured after hitting a vase. “The producer was pleased, and we carried on shooting,” Adi noted.

However, what struck Adi most was Salman’s reaction. After the incident, the ‘Dabangg’ star retreated to his room, avoiding immediate apologies or inquiries about Adi’s well-being.

The following day, Salman invited Adi to his room. Feeling remorseful for his previous behavior, Salman finally conveyed his regrets. “Salman said, ‘Adi, I’m really sorry. I couldn’t even look into your eyes. I felt terrible,’” Adi recounted.

Surprisingly, Adi expressed understanding. “I told Salman, ‘It’s alright; these things happen.’ Some people find it hard to apologize right away, but they feel the weight of their actions. Salman is one of those people,” he remarked.
