Actor Suman Receives “Ranga Sumanasa” Award in Muscat

Dr. Suman Talwar, a renowned actor with a career spanning over 800 films in 10 languages, was honored with the “Ranga Sumanasa” award in Muscat by Javaner Muscat.

Suman, who is well known for portraying roles of divine characters such as Lord Srinivasa, Lord Rama, and Lord Shiva, has gained immense popularity and a loyal fan base both nationally and internationally. He hails from the coastal region of Karnataka and has made a mark in the film industry for over 47 years without any formal training in arts. He is widely respected for his simplicity and noble character, said Kadri Navaneet Shetty in his tribute.

Suman emphasized the need for harmony in life and suggested, “On the occasion of Nag Panchami, there should be a public holiday in coastal Karnataka to allow families to participate in religious events.”

Suman, recognized as the only actor from the coastal region who has acted in 11 languages, is also known for his role in the Tulu film “Nettar Kere.”

Arun Poojari, an official at Mangalore Airport, was the chief guest at the event.

In addition to Suman, the following individuals were also honored with awards: Dr. Devadas Kapikad received the “Kala Sindhu” award, Naveen D. Padil received the “Teliked Tedil” award, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor was given the “Chaturanga Savya Sachi” award, and Sai Krishna Kudla received the “Ranga Trivikram” award.

Prominent personalities from Muscat, including Ramanan Banger, Shiv Prakash Kumpal, Shashidhar Shetty Mallar, Dhanush Divakar Shetty, Ravindra, Dr. Saritha, Dinesh Poojari, Chandra Kanth Kotyan, Yuvraj, Syed Saleem, Faisal, Walter Pereira, Prasad Inna, Leela Salyan, Roni, Deepak, Mohan Bhatt, and Ratnakar Acharya, attended the event.

The event featured a performance of the play “Pudar Deetiji” by the artists of the Cha Park team, organized by Inspiration Design.

A CISF Female Officer Accused of Deception; UP Man Dies by Suicide in Mangalore Lodge

Mangalore: Abhishek Singh, a UP-based employee of a private company in Chennai, has died by suicide in Mangalore. He had come to the city to participate in an exhibition and was staying at a lodge on Rao & Rao Road, where he was found hanging.

Before taking this extreme step, Abhishek recorded a video and shared it on Instagram. In the video, he accused a CISF female officer of deceiving him. According to him, the woman was already married but kept it a secret while developing a relationship with him. He alleged that she took lakhs of rupees and gold ornaments from him under false pretenses. Now, she has admitted to being married and having a husband, which led to his distress.

In the video, he also urged his community to ostracize the woman. The police are investigating the matter.

Ikala Kanta Baare Booda Baare Kambala Festival to Begin on February 1

Kinnigoli: The much-awaited Ikala Kanta Baare Booda Baare Kambala festival will begin with religious ceremonies on February 1, Saturday, at 8:50 AM at the Ikala Bava Dharma Chavadi near Kinnigoli.

During a press conference, Dr. Deviprasad Shetty Belalu, President of the Ikala Kanta Baare Booda Baare Kambala Committee, shared details about the event. He announced that the festival would be inaugurated by Shri Chandrashekar Swamiji, a prominent spiritual leader from Bangalore. The inaugural function will be presided over by Dr. K.P.K. Hegde, President of the Ikala Bava Family Welfare Trust.

Kishore Alva, President of Adhani Foundation’s South India branch, will inaugurate the Kambala race. Vedic Priest Anantapadmanabha Asrana from Kateelu Temple and Fr Oswal Monteiro from Kirem Church will bless the event.

Dakshina Kannada District Commissioner Mullai Mugilan and other dignitaries will be present during the festival. In the evening, a special session will honor Dr. M.N. Rajendra Kumar with the Sahakara Veera Award and recognize outstanding achievers from Tulu Nadu.

Other prominent guests include Legislative Assembly Speaker U.T. Khadar, District in-charge Minister Dinesh Gundurao, Dr. K. Prakash Shetty, Executive Director of MRG Group, Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratap. G. Baburao Sarnaik, along with MPs, MLAs, cricketers, and other prominent personalities.

The Kambala race will conclude on time, with strict adherence to the event’s regulations, and organizers have requested the Kambala organizers to follow the guidelines.

German ETag Group Signs EOI for 300 Crore Investment in Mangaluru Under ‘Back to Uru’ Initiative

Mangaluru: As part of the “Back to Uru” initiative, a concept proposed by Dakshina Kannada MP Byrjesh Chout, the German-based ETag Energietechnik Pvt. Ltd (European Technology Alliance Group) has committed to investing ₹300 crore in Mangaluru. This investment will not only lead to the establishment of a manufacturing unit in the Mangaluru Special Economic Zone (SEZ) but also sees the relocation of the company’s global office to Mangaluru.

In a significant move, the German ETag Group and Mangaluru SEZ signed an Expression of Interest (EOI) today, formalizing their commitment to this investment. The venture is expected to bring advanced German technologies to Mangaluru, providing a boost to the region’s industrial growth, creating job opportunities, and enhancing the local economy.

This collaboration is seen as a major step in strengthening Mangaluru’s position as a key player in international business, technology, and innovation, with long-term benefits anticipated for both local and global stakeholders.
