Aamir Khan Shares His Thoughts on Genelia Deshmukh at the ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ Promo Event
Reflecting on her comeback during the press interaction, Genelia shared her thoughts on returning to Aamir Khan Productions. “*Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na* will always hold a special place in my heart; it introduced audiences to Aditi, a character they still cherish. However, *Sitaare Zameen Par* is quite different. I’m at a new phase in my life, and so is my acting. It’s wonderful to return and portray Sunita.”
Sunita, Genelia’s character, serves as a crucial emotional anchor in the movie. Aamir, who stars alongside her, expressed his admiration: “The camera truly loves her,” he said, beaming. “She lights up every scene she’s in. Genelia delivered an impeccable performance from her very first film and continues to strengthen her craft. Her work is always genuine and moving—she’s the kind of actor you dream of working with.”

The chemistry between Aamir’s character, Gulshan, and Genelia’s Sunita is central to the film’s emotional narrative. Aamir revealed that Gulshan is emotionally immature, struggling with his relationships, particularly with his wife. “The relationship between Gulshan and Sunita lies at the film’s core. It was a delight to act alongside Genelia. She brings a raw honesty to the screen, offering me so much to engage with as an actor.”
Director RS Prasanna, known for his thoughtful storytelling, echoed these sentiments. “Working with actors like Aamir and Genelia means your job becomes easier. Both are emotionally insightful and incredibly authentic, enhancing the filming experience. Their dynamic is a joy to watch.”
This film marks a significant return for Genelia, not only to the screen but also to a more mature and layered portrayal as an actress. Fans who remember her from romantic comedies will witness a completely new side of her in *Sitaare Zameen Par*.
