42nd Edition of National Children’s Festival ‘Sri Krishna Vesha Competition’ to be Held in Mangaluru

Mangaluru : As part of the Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebrations, the prestigious “Sri Krishna Vesha Competition”, organized annually by the Kalkura Foundation, will mark its “42nd edition” this year at the historic “Kadri Sri Manjunatha Temple” in Mangaluru.

The event, which has become a beloved tradition in the city, is part of the “National Children’s Festival” and showcases young participants dressed in the divine attire of Lord Krishna. The competition attracts hundreds of children each year, making it one of the most anticipated cultural events during Janmashtami in the coastal region.

In preparation for the festival, a grand meeting was held at “Sharada Vidyalaya”, chaired by “Pradeep Kumar Kalkura”, President of the Kalkura Foundation. During the gathering, he called upon all stakeholders and well-wishers to contribute ideas and suggestions to ensure that this year’s event is conducted with even greater discipline and organizational excellence.

The competition emphasizes both cultural celebration and community participation, offering children a platform to connect with tradition through creative expression. More details regarding registration and the schedule of the event are expected to be announced soon.

Mangaluru: The results of the Second PUC examination for the academic year 2025–26 have been announced. A student from Alva’s College in Dakshina Kannada district has secured the first rank in the state.

Disha, a Commerce student, scored a perfect 600 out of 600 marks. She achieved full marks in all subjects. This outstanding performance helped her secure the top position in the state.

Mangaluru : On Good Friday, April 3, 2026, the faithful of Allipade Parish gathered at St. Antony Church in a spirit of deep devotion. The solemn service was led by Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Robert D’Souza, along with Rev. Fr. Anush D’Cunha SJ and Rev. Fr. Leston Lobo SJ.

The priests guided the congregation through prayers and reflections on the Passion and crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The atmosphere was calm and prayerful, with many observing fasting and silence.

Mangaluru : The new Hyundai Exter has been launched in Mangaluru with exciting features. The car was unveiled at the Advaith Hyundai Showroom in Kuntikana.

National champion runner Ayush R Devadiga officially launched the car. The event included a cake-cutting ceremony, and he was also honoured. He said the car is designed for today’s youth and is expected to become popular.

Sales consultant Chandan explained the car’s features. Showroom manager Rajesh Ullal and other staff members attended the event.

The Hyundai Exter offers an SUV-style look and modern features. It includes a dashcam, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Type-C USB ports, and Bluelink connectivity. It also has an electric sunroof, a digital cluster, and OTA updates for maps and infotainment.
